I know you're just joking by posting that, but isolating the chat box out of context will naturally lead people that weren't there to think the horrifying coincidence was intentional. It wasn't, here's the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a2W5eIzk-o). The Tensas Rifles were in the midst of laggy Zouave vs. Zouave melee while under heavy suppression. Something like ten teamkills occured in a 5 yard or less area and in less than forty seconds, including one of your enlisted killing one of your NCO's, one of your enlisted killing a troll, Lt. Crum killing Cpt. Staples, and Carrol killing Crum and Godwin.

Just for the record:

We voluntarily played on the Union side last night and consistently took part in the heaviest fighting. And went undefeated.

I was just joking with that. I wasn't able to get the other team kills that you mentioned, but I posted that as a joke because it was coincidental it was the three officers in a row. No hard feelings. :o

He's been working on updating many of our very dated barn structures to a level that matches the rest of the development of the game - I'd recommend checking them out (still a few to go before they are all completed) if you happen to pass by one. :)

The latest added barn, the Henry Rohrback barn (in close proximity to Burnside Bridge) will be part of the next update.

We're guilty of pulling our group out, not proud of it, but mostly because we were looking for the 6th LA, because we love them, a lot. Our only experience with the 1st GA was a very young officer who charged us to our deaths several times. We were terrified of facing that again.

If you're going to this evening's event, we'll make an effort to steer towards the 1st GA this time and give them another go. :)

Playing both sides is fun. It gives you a chance to understand how you can use the map to your advantage, and how to counter those advantages, from both teams. There's a reason the Army has an OPFOR unit!

Also, it's only a game. Attaching too much importance to the team you play on is a recipe for disaster.

Correct - we may introduce hud markers over dropped flags and adjust the time to despawn in the future.

We didn't want to allow picking up enemy flags as

1) we'd need furled flags - no person in their right mind would run around with an unfurled enemy flag in the middle of combat (and who wants to run around with a stick?).

and even more importantly

2) It would be a massive boost to the defender as they are much more static. Lose your flag in a single charge at a position and you will never see your flag again - at least not without killing off the entire defence - and you might as well just win by capping the area at that point. Some have suggested to only have the enemy have the flag picked up for a specific time and then despawn it which could work - this will however still make it so there will never be any true fighting over the flag (again because the defender can just hide behind the static line).

By having the flags only be pickupable by friendlies we can essentially have small engagements during the bigger skirmish in order to take control back of a certain area in order to get the flag back - if the defender chooses to spend the manpower in trying to deny the enemy to get their flag back that is - it becomes an active choice instead of a no brainer followed by no fighting to get the captured flag back.

As SwingKid has commented, all flags are spawn points regardless of being regimental or national.
It would be nice one day to see Union regiments carrying two flags in to battle as they were wont to do during the war.

I saw a Confederate flag drop on Pry Ford last night and I was trying to pick it up but all I was really doing was stomping on it as I didn't know we couldn't pick up enemy flags... sorry about that no disrespect intended. :D

But then my strategy was to guard the flag and not let anyone come retrieve it which I believe is the right strategy in that case if I'm understanding correctly.
