I am very sorry that we aren't a huge developer with 100 employees and a budget with ~5 million USD.
In those 3 years, we had to use our own money and spent the entire freetime into the project, besides having own jobs or going to university.

Indie developers are no big companies and we don't have the luxury to finish a game within 3 years ;)

Yes, you will be able to set your rank.
But its not possible to be a high rank officer, if you just started the game.

You will find colonels or high ranked generals on expierenced players. More details will be released in a field report I think :)

I spotted a small problem in the US Officer Corps video. The salute is wrong. They're doing the modern American salute. I've pointed out this mistake before, they should be doing a palm facing the officer salute not a palm facing the ground one.

Well I don't speak for the Devs but they said at the kick starter that they would like to have it out within sixs months, that was five months ago so I think it's coming soon, within a month or two in my opinion. But like I said I'm not sure, I'm just going off of what the Devs said at the kickstarter and my wishful thinking

I don't believe player-to-player combat will be available in the first technical alpha (the drill camp). The second alpha release however will be the first public test of skirmishes, so there should be combat there.

(This is what I know so far. Still need the developers to confirm it.)

I agree. I imagine that it'll probably be easy for units to host their own specific training on the drill map eventually as well.

Well, you can use the shooting range as target practice, like the civil war soldiers used in camps.
Its not needed to be able to team-kill other :)

Also, like we said, the drill camp will get more features over the next months. Maybe there will be another option in the future? ;)

May sounds most likely, as they announced it in early March, so thats 2 months to get everything ready which seems like a reasonable time. Plus it is right at the start of summer. But that might be for the backers who payed a lot, the captain pledge might get it a bit later. Either way, drill camp will be amazing.

Thanks! We don't have set dates for field reports. We create new ones whenever we feel like we have enough interesting stuff to show you guys.

Yeahh the whole waiting thing is killing me, i can't wait for this game to full release, but I know that to have a great game some patience is needed, these field reports come as a friendly reminder that you're progressing and showing us what is cool and what to expect

Let me just clarify that for the time being, it will not be possible to teamkill on the Drill Camp map. imagine how silly it would be, everyone running around, going at each other :p.

But in other news, I updated the website a bit.

It is now possible to see how many people have backed at the various tiers and more importantly, how many people will get access to the Drill Camp

You could do something similar to Squads training Camp (like two separate ones the two sides to spawn in) then some middle area people can have Duels/Battles in Cordoned off from these areas.

Just thinking people might get a bit bored if all they can do is target practice, something like I mention would probably keep people more satisfied until the next update.

you provide a good point, but in actuality the whole drill camp is just for drill and training, but again that being said i would love to test my skills that i've acquired... But if it so happens to have to wait until Alpha then so be it

Due to the lag of Field report i have to waste my money otherwise. I want these game so really bad and i am full of attachment of these period i have to start Civil war tabletop.
