I recommend 8th Florida Infantry, Co. A for you. That´s one of the bigger English speaking units in Europe, with members of different nations. Joining them would also give you access to the big regular UEC events on the weekend.

Bei den Mecklenburg Guards erwarten Sie harter, historisch korrekter Drill, organisierte Gefechte und ein angenehmes Maß an Roleplay während unserer Events. Unser Drill Book folgt im Wesentlichen den einschlägigen Ausführungen aus der Zeit des Amerikanischen Bürgerkrieges mit gewissen Adaptionen, welche durch das Spiel vorgegeben sind. Die Befehle werden aus Gründen der Authentizität in Englisch erteilt. Unsere Formationen werden nicht nur im Drill vermittelt, sondern auch in den Gefechten umgesetzt.

Viel wichtiger ist aber, dass wir eine Community sind, in der wir den Spielspaß nie zu kurz kommen lassen wollen und einen freundlichen, ja familiären Umgang pflegen.
Die Mecklenburg Guards ziehen erhobenen Hauptes mit verschlissener Uniform, aber perfekter Ausrüstung für Virginia und die heilige Sache des Südens in den Kampf.



Auch historisch betrachtet eine interessante Einheit. Geführt vom Cousin des weithin bekannten J.E.B. Stuart, nahm die Einheit an vielen der bekanntesten Schlachten des Krieges teil. Als Erstes ist sicherlich die Teilnahme an vorderster Front des Picket Charges bei Gettysburg zu nennen. Die 56. Virginia blutete aber auch von Cold Harbor bis Appomattox mit General Lee. Bei Sharpsburg trat die Einheit in den Scharmützeln um South Mountain in Erscheinung, wobei sie ohnehin mannschaftlich stark geschwächt, noch weitere Verluste erlitt. Bei der Schlacht selbst, verteidigten die Virginians eine Artillerie-Stellung.

We are receiving reports that North Carolinian soldiers are commonly referred to by the pejorative nickname "Tar Heel" by their fellow Patriots on account of their propensity to valiantly stand their ground while soldiers from more "oily states" are quick to turn tail and run. My intentions are to lead a regiment of my fellow North Carolinians in their brave defense of their homeland against this terrible onslaught of Yankee Aggression.


Strategy:
To maintain the historical accuracy of the company, the 1st North Carolina “Tar Heel” unit will focus primarily on developing its skirmishing and defensive capabilities to become one of the strongest defensive companies in the Confederacy. Needless to say, we will be involved in frequent melee brawls and will need a strong offensive charge when necessary. We will also maintain our sharpshooting skills as a unit as well. We will hold weekly training sessions as a team, and will also join up with one of the larger infantry brigades of the Confederacy once we have enough men. Ultimately, the 1st North Carolina Tar Heel division will demonstrate its defensive capabilities whenever we face off against the Union in competitive events, and make our brothers in arms proud!


History:
The 1st North Carolina Infantry was organized at the race track at Warrenton, North Carolina during the spring of 1861 and mustered in on June 3, 1861 with nearly 1600 officers and men hailing from eleven North Carolina counties. Colonel Montford S. Stokes, a son of North Carolina Governor Montfort Stokes, became its commanding officer. He served in the Navy from 1832 to 1839 and also fought as a Major with the North Carolina Volunteers during the Mexican–American War. The other field officers were Lieutenant-Colonel Matt W. Ransom and Major John A. McDowell. The regiment initially served in the Department of North Carolina, and after the First Manassas was relocated to Virginia.

The 1st North Carolina joined the Army of Northern Virginia and was brigaded under Brig. Gen. Roswell S. Ripley in the division of Maj. Gen. D.H. Hill.

On June 26, 1862 during the Battle of Beaver Dam Creek the 1st North Carolina suffered its first heavy casualties as fifty-four of their own were killed or mortally wounded and over one hundred wounded. Colonel Stokes was mortally wounded and died on July 14, 1862.

As part of the Second Corps, the 1st North Carolina Company I participated in almost every battle the Army of Northern Virginia fought in the Eastern Theater, and was also highly regarded by Gen. Robert E. Lee for its defensive capabilities as a unit.

The 2nd Maryland Volunteer Infantry is calling up for Volunteers to join our ranks to defend the State of Maryland.

Why YOU Should Join:
The 2nd Maryland Volunteer Infantry is a Neutral unit. As Maryland was a Border state with regiments on both sides of the war, we have both sides in our ranks making us both a Union and Confederate unit. Our unit is full of experienced players, going as far back as May 2014, with Secession, North and South and Napoleonic Wars, as well as War of Rights and Battle Cry of Freedom. Our unit is as relaxed as it gets with no mandatory trainings, no minimum attendance and no bureaucracy, making it the perfect unit for those who wish to play an American Civil War game without all the luggage and paper work.

What The Unit Has to Offer:
The 2nd Maryland Volunteer Infantry offers many things to new players as well as those who are on the fence about Battle Cry of Freedom. Rank progression, specialist roles and NCO roles so that everyone can play the game as they see fit. We play both sides of the war so you won't have to worry about only ever playing one side or the other constantly as may happen in other units. We have a laid back group so you won't be hounded down about trainings, event attendance and internal affairs as we know everyone has a life besides this game. We seek fairness and believe no matter your rank or years of service everyone has equal say in what goes on with the unit as without you there is no unit.
