I'm looking for a good quality Tricorne, or three-fold-hat, and I'm wondering what is a good (online) place to purchase items like this from?

Regimental quartermaster, do a search. They're in Gettysburg.

And now that site rests in my favourites. They lack Tricornes though they do have a few other items I've been wondering about. Should also be pretty useful for any reenacting stuff in the future.

I also highly recommend Dirty Billy's Hats. I remember being in his tent when he spoke a bit of hat history with a Reenactor - everyone in there went silent and listened in.

http://www.dirtybillyshats.com/ seems pretty good. Conveniently I'll be taking a trip to Gettysburg fairly soon, so that may alleviate any wait entirely if they have what I'm looking for there.

By the way, if you are asking this because you are starting to get into Revolutionary-era reenacting, I would highly suggest making sure you are getting the right thing with those that are veterans of the group before you send out the CC info. If this is entirely not the case, that you are just getting a random tricorn, then completely disregard what I just said!

This. Definitely agree, do not buy anything unless you consult with veterans of that regiment, that is what I am doing as I'm getting into the Civil War Reenactment! :)

I want this now.

The events I go to are pre 1840's

Here? (http://www.kultofathena.com/hats.asp) I brought an Arkansas Toothpick and a Pipe Tomahawk from them, but probably a better place to get weapons rather than clothes. You never know though.

I use Kult Of Athena for swords, I've never really thought about buying anything other than weapons there.

Well they have stuff other than swords for a reason.

Anyone with firsthand experience using http://www.jarnaginco.com ?

I'm looking at getting accoutrements, like the 1828 or 1839 cartridge box, for my Pedersoli 1816.

as a revolutionary reenactor, I recommend "https://www.jas-townsend.com" for accurate clothing. However if you are joining a reenactment group, ask your group what can be purchased to match your group's authenticity.

I've dealt with Jarnagan a long time ago, it was okay then ... don't know if they're still any good.

Love my Jarnagin brogans. They're over in Corinth, very close to me... I've never stepped into their shop - just seen their products. Very satisfied. I'll have to look at all of his stuff.
