I just thought I would share a quote from one of my ancestors, Ludwell Lawrence (1843-1925), who was a violin player and served in the confederate army, 21st Texas Cavalry Co. H.
In 1919, when my ancestor James Allen returned from WW1, "Uncle Lud" as he was called grumbled "more noise made over the return of one world war soldier than there was over the return of the whole confederate army!"
I just found this quote very interesting and I hope you do as well.
