View Full Version : Having trouble
Hello, im bad with this stuff so dont judge, etc. Everytime I try to load TW: empire, it goes to the copyright loading screen, and just says it stopped working/crashes. I even uninstall it, and re install, and even clean out the folder. Any ideas?

Did you load a mod and uninstall it or something? If so, try deleting the boot.pack in Steam/SteamApps/Common/Empire:TotalWar/data

Well I did install run, and uninstalled a mod, but I cleared out my folder. Or will it be in there when I download it again?

By cleared out your folder, do you mean 'delete the folder itself' or just go to Steam and click Delete?
I delete the content in the Empire folder then delete local content on steam

Okay, delete the script folder of Empire: Total War in The Creative Assembly, then try launching.
Also, before this started happening, I had frequent crashes with ACW mod... I followed the installation instructions, etc. I had Warpath, and It crashed. It may be because I didnt have warpath before I played and it was fetched in the CA folder, but, IDK.

That wouldn't be the case, also, AC:W is a slightly young mod still, and the latest version still has bugs. I personally had the same problem, I tried everything, until I had deleted boot.pack, then it magically started working, but I've since switched to Darthmod. Did you set the game to vanilla on launch in the launcher first, though? That could be your problem.
no, i set it to ACW ready

There's your problem. If you actually read the instructions, they said 'set it to Vanilla ready first' now that the files are coded for ACW, you have to reinstall it, set it to vanilla ready, then do it all over again.

I go to steam, then I click on the properties in Napoleon Total War. I click on local files, then browse local files. then I click on acw, then I try to click on the launcher and then click "fight". a window pops up saying an unhandled exception has occurred and that If I click continue that the application will try continue and then nothing happens. Am I missing a step in the set up process?
