RECRUITING NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND AN EXECUTIVE OFFICER!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
BATTLE PURPOSE
Learn why it is better to be called a Trooper rather than a Private!
The 2nd Virginia Cavalry has been formed as a Cavalry unit that will act as dismounted line infantry as well as skirmishers and mounted cavalrymen. Due to the current state of the War of Rights development there are no cavalry aspects in the game presently. To counteract this we will be acting as dismounted infantry and skirmishers until we can also perform our main role as mounted Calvary.
As a unit we look forward to hosting recruit and unit training twice a month. Operations/events once a week and a monthly full formation operation once a month. We plan on having our own server once the game goes up in final form were we will host for members who are active daily. Our unit is a disciplined yet relaxed unit with serious but fair leaders. We would appeal to all that are seeking a friendly community with a variety of behaviors.
DISMOUNTED BEHAVIOR
When the cavalry preform a mounted infantry or dismount role troopers are expected to ride into battle with a horse and then dismount and become a regular or irregular infantry soldier. Due to the current state of development this will be the role we will be performing most often.(without the dismounting part) Essentially the cavalrymen will behave as a line infantry unit with the ability to become a light skirmisher unit using light infantry tactics and formations.
Generally during line infantry operations we will fall into the rank and file of other formations we are with becoming basic infantry soldiers. When deployed as skirmishers our soldiers will behave as irregular forces charged with disrupting the enemy and using special weapons to eliminate the enemy.
MOUNTED BEHAVIOR
Mounted Cavalry operations will be the specialty of this company. While the men of E Troop are proclaimed cavalry we are flexible enough to fight on foot. Although it is preferred to fight in a powerful position on a mount such as the horse. The company can be used for reconnaissance operations, direct charges and flanking attacks. On a mount the Troop can move faster than infantry forces allowing the troopers to engage and disengage the enemy quickly. With a horse a charge has much more literal force behind it and the ability to demoralize the enemy. With these advantages fighting on a mount with maneuverability and power allows for unique advantages that are denied to soldiers of foot. With these benefits the 2nd Virginia will establish itself as the premier Calvary unit of the Confederate States of America.
I wanna be in the cavalry if they send me off to war
I wanna good steed under me like my forefathers before
I wanna good mount when the bugle sounds and I hear the cannons' roar
I wanna be in the cavalry if they send me off to war
I wanna horse in the volunteer force that's riding forth at dawn
Please save for me some gallantry that will echo when I'm gone
I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long
