I'm from Lithuania and I'm very interested in American Civil War.
Could you please suggest me what book should I read about American Civil War?

Hello,

i would suggest reading "The American Civil War" by John Keegan. Its a good, detailed and easy readable book :)

The Civil War: A Narrative by Shelby Foote is great. :)

My favorite by far has to be Those Damned Back Hats by Lance J. Herdegen...Also I have enjoyed just about everything by Shelby Foote.
Also I would recommend Battle Cry Of Freedom by James M. McPherson

The Civil War by Bruce Catton is good as well.

Can anybody tell me a good historical book series which took part in the napoleonic era? or fridrich the great?

If you want a good study of command of the confederacy, I highly recommend "Lee's Lieutenants" by Douglas Southall Freeman. A very good 3 volume work.

stillness on the appomattox by Bruce Catton is probably the best book ive read on the American Civil War.

thank you but for the moment I have enough of civil war. I read the Starbuck books and now I need another topic before I read this because I don't want to get bored of this topic

Abraham Lincoln: The Prairie Years and the War Years is a great book by Carl Sandburg

Two Years of Grim War: The Photographic History of The Civil War, Part Two is also a great book by Francis Trevelyan, ed. Miller
