So I was wondering if melee combat in game for enlisted men will be restricted to just a bayonet or will you be able to use your fists or a knife or your rifle as ablunt wepon I think this would be cool for immersion. so about regiments the only thing im worried about is if mostly everyone who played wor will be in their own online regiment while I who really does'ent feel like joining a regiment will be well without one. SO I lnow what you might be saying there will be servers specifically for people who are not in a regiment. But then their comes the problem that other people without regiments will just charge blindly without even forming into ranks because well I don't know . even though I highly doubt that will happen. basicly what im saying is I want to just jump on a server and even if im not in that specific regiment i'll still be able to fight with them for the time im playing
thanks for any feedback would love to hear about the melee combat from devs:cool:

Well unlike NW, WoR will have a structured rank system and HUUUUGE maps that will require that teammates work together. In addition, I'm hopeful that anyone who gets this game actually knows about warfare and combat of the period, and is willing to work with others to win.

Yeah I agree see unlike NW which im guessing is mount and blade napoleaonic wars. there will be a limit to regiment making because if people want realistic uniforms and flags for there group there not gonna find it unless that regiment their making actually fought in the Maryland campaighn. so im guessing a regiment would'ent care if a guy joined the server and started fighting with them.
Thanks for the feed back

Well actually let me say what my biggest concern is . its just that is the game being made so you'll have to join a regiment online and all. that which I don't have a problem with its just that I don't see the need to. Or will it be a mix of both were there will be people with there own regiments and those who are not in one. Basicly the only problem I have with this is mostly everyone will join a regiment then when you jump on a server you don't have a regiment.
im sure devs have thought all this out thought all this out so I have no need to worry

There is definitely no need to worry, you will have the same amount of fun as a public player as a member of a clan/ regiment. Though you may miss some "professional" battles, but i dont know exactly how the regiment system is supposed to work. Maybe you will choose one for your online character at the "creation screen"

Your right and im sure mostly everyone who will play this game whether on a public server or a server for regiments will fight like they well like they did back then one thing im still wondering is what is the point of making a regiment that was not in the battle because only specific regiments will be in the game. Anyways im also wondering will " professional fighting" be enforced by server admins.
oh well it does'ent really matter I could always just join a regiment

Well no one will be forcing anyone to play in a historical manner, meaning there will be no server admins forcing it. Now that may be different on private servers, but that won't be the case on public servers run by the developers (If there are any). Like I said before, you really have no reason to worry. You basically have two choices.
1. Join an online regiment community and become friends with them all, progress through the ranks, and attend events which will most definitely be awesome.
2. Chill on public servers running in a big line that will be a mix of public players and regiment players. The line and officers will probably mostly be handled by online regiment officers that are on at the time, and the community knows well.
You really have no reason to worry about it. Everything will work itself out, and besides, its still a pretty long ways off.... unless.... ;)
All I imagine is the beginning of the movie Lincoln. That is all I need.

If all you saw was the beginning of Lincoln you would not want to put yourself in there

No comments yet from the developers, all is speculation. ;)

At the current rate updates are being released, I imagine a lot of our questions will be answered sometime within the next 26 days.
We will have a preview of our ideas and the upcoming group-tool during the Kickstarter Campaign ;)
