Hello

When arty(Artillary) in-realife(in the civil war anyway) hits a line it will kill one or two but shrapnel would kill about 3 and the force it hit the ground would send the men who lived to the ground. Will WoR have arty which is more reaslim(Seems to be what you are going for)then arcade?
And will arty have natural sharpnel? ie Will i be sat in a forest with some other guys and then have arty blow part of a tree in to my chest? :P
I dont know if this is even possible in the engine(I know next to nothing about coding/engines) but it would be amazing to get some good realistic arty.

Don't make this to overpowering, try to make it inaccurate but not useless as if you overpower it people will spam it and if you make it to useless people will complain.

Question is... do we really need different type of cannons? There won't be much cannons on the field anyway...

good question and i agree to Primergys hidden answer...no we dont i think the napoleon for the CSA and the 3inch for the yanks should be enough imho

i think you need 3 diffrent classes
Morter Cannon and howitzers would be awsome

I'm only interested in the deployment of the arty, will the cannons be deployed with horses or will it be already positioned on the map?

That is interesting as well, if they will be positioned by the Artillery train [If there is one] but there should be some "Static" artillery positioned historically like a few 12 pounders but then the units decide...

Unfortunately Primergy, I must dispute you on this. For the Yankee side:
69 10-lb Parrotts
3 12-lb Howitzers
4 12-lb James'
6 14-lb James'
22 20-lb Parrotts
93 3-inch Ordinance Rifles
6 32-lb Howitzers
and 130 Napoleons.

On the Rebel side,
48 10-lb Parrotts
58 12-lb Howitzers
4 24-lb Howitzers
48 3-inch Ordinance Rifles
58 6-lb Guns
8 Blakely's
30 Napoleons
1 Naval Howitzer
and 2 Whitworths.

In total, that is 333 Federal guns and 257 Confederate guns. I think you can say that there were plenty of guns on the field historically, and that we will have whatever that will end up being made for you to blast away to your heart's content with.
The website this information is from. (http://antietam.aotw.org/weapons.php?weapon_id=all) Includes the units equipped with the pieces where available.

I think the threat of cannon balls on a huge scaled battles will just add to the breath taking experiance :)
