Wer sind wir

Die "German Volunteers" sind ein deutschsprachiger Community-Verbund, bestehend aus Companys aller Truppengattungen und mit Einheiten aus beiden Lagern der kämpfenden Fraktionen.
Unser Ziel ist es eine gut organisierte aber dennoch auf Spielspaß ausgerichtete Community aufzubauen, welche deutschsprachigen Spielern die Möglichkeit bietet eine zu ihnen passende Company zu finden, oder einfach War of Rights aus der Perspektive einer eingespielten Einheit zu erleben. Viele unsere Companys basieren deshalb auf historischen Vorbildern deutscher Einheiten was sich aus Spitznamen wie "The German Volunteers","Sigels Rifles" oder "German Rangers" ableiten lässt. Organisiert sind wir als loser Verbund der beteiligten Einheiten die gemeinsam in und an der gemeinsamen Community arbeiten und sich gegenseitig unterstützen. Dabei ist jede einzelne Einheit absolut unabhängig und allen anderen gleichgestellt. Regelmäßige Treffen der Companys ermöglichen es uns sich weiter auszutausch und für die Community relevante Entscheidungen auf demokratischer Basis zu treffen. Sollte War of Rights mal nicht im Mittelpunkt stehen, präsentieren wir uns als waschechter Gamingclan wo alle gängigen Spieletitel zu finden sind.

Neben unseren Bestehenden Einheiten sind wir auch gerne Bereit neu gegründete Companys in unseren Verbund aufzunehmen und ihnen, falls gewünscht, Starthilfe in allen relevanten Belangen zu geben,
sowie sie an allen unserer Aktionen teilhaben zu lassen.


About us:

The German Volunteers is a community of likeminded German companies for the game War of Rights fighting for both Factions,
which will strife to provide a fun gaming experience for anyone interested in the German participation in the US Civil War.
All participating companies are either historically mostly german companies, are german based communities
or have a general interest in building a community around the german side of the Civil War.

Our Goal is to build a gaming community around these common factors, and to build a Website and Teamspeak for common use.
We are a loose federation without a rigid rank structure and treat each participating company as equal among all others.
The community guidelines and rules to be determined and layed out are our overarching way of organising the community,
with each company being allowed complete freedom in treating internal affairs.

Nothing but since we decided to Open for both factions we thought it would be the best to Open a thread here also to show the german csa companies that we accept csa companies.

Our Focus is to Form a german community for WoR and Not only for the USA/CSA

Not that there ever were very many complete German organizations in the South. After all most of the immigrants coming to America during this time landed in New York City, and not any Southern ports.

Not saying this is a bad idea ... just saying historically, there weren't many Germans in the Southern forces. Most Germans migrated to the upper mid west ... So the majority of Germans would be yanks only. :)

However, that doesn't account for actual real live Germans today playing as Southerners already committed to state organizations.

Experience: I have hardly any experience in WoR(beside one week Corporal in 1stLA) but I was 1iC of the infantry bataillion of one of the biggest (and during my command also best) german regiments. Currently I'm Major of the 72nd Highlanders, the best competetive NW regiment in the german community, beside that I overtook many organisation and administration tasks, for example organizing events and making activity list of my members
characteristics: I have a high self-confidence(can be put to bad and good I think), I'm a rational and trustworthy person and when I want to achieve something I try every possible way until I get it
Why I want to join: As I mentioned before, I'm a experienced leader and i saw you are searching for staff members who can help you to make the legion run and perform better, or at least as good as it runs now. Another point why I like to be part of your community, is because i know some people from former times :D. i know it is not much but these are the two simple reasons why I wan to join

Are the German Volunteers still active? Asking only because my online time has me in game during 08-16:00 EST timeframe so a lot of the NA units are difficult for me to join since they have events and player participation after that time, understandable of course due to RL job and such. But as a Retiree who has freetime during the hours others in NA work I find myself in a pickle.

Ja die TGV ist aktiv. Und die Zeiten sollten dir wohl in die Karten spielen. Wir sind an den WE an beiden Tagen ab 20:00 Uhr CET auf den camps und skirmishes. Je nachdem wo dich dein Herz hinzieht kannst du bei unseren kompanien reinschauen.

Wir bieten in der Union: 52nd New York und die 20th New York

Auf der Konföderation: 18th North Carolina und 8th Alabama.
Für die erste Kontaktaufnahme Suche am besten die jeweiligen Steam Gruppen und bewirb dich dort. Ansonsten schreib mich gerne an, wir finden schon ein Plätzchen für dich!

Montagsgefechte wieder aktiv!

Die TGV führt seit einigen Wochen wieder regelmäßig ihre Montagsgefechte durch, inzwischen sind dort auch alle fünf Einheiten der TGV vertreten. An Montagabenden wird zwei Runden lang auf Skirmish-Karten einheitsübergreifend und in gemischten Teams gekämpft, nach der ersten Runde findet ein Seitenwechsel statt. Das stellt sicher, dass jeder mal die für ihn "falsche" Farbe tragen darf; das erweitert den Horizont...

Geführt wird regelmäßig durch Privates oder maximal durch junge NCOs, wobei jeweils ein erfahrender NCO oder auch Offizier als Stellvertreter Hilfestellung gibt, um es dem jungen CO beim Einstieg in das Führen etwas leichter zu machen. Da stellt dann so mancher auch sehr erfahrene Private fest, das geführt werden und Führen im Gefecht bei WoR doch zwei ganz verschiedene Dinge sind... Auch das erweitert den Horizont - und Spaß macht es auch.
