I have a couple questions regarding clans/regiments.
First off will there be just one server where everyone comes to, selects classes, and battles it out until one side wins? Or will there be public and private servers for competitive play? I mean like if a bunch of people make regiments, which I am sure will happen, and come together to play competively? Will there be events every now and then were there is just competetive regiments?
Public is fun and all, but when people would like to play together as a regiment then a random public player riding around as a General trolling is going to take away from that experience. Also if there are public and competive servers or just events, will you have to reserve your unit. Let's say some people play as a certain NY regiment, will they have to reserve that unit so that another reg cannot take the spots? Also will there be a set limit of clans/regiments because eventually after a while all the historical ones will be taken and then people will start making up there own. I can just imagine after all the historically accurate names are taken we will start seeing names like the "420th BlazeIt Battalion" or the "Nazi Army" or the "69th Booty Guards" or the "360th NoScopers" or other things that are no where near historically accurate :p
So to sum it up will is be possible for the competive community to have a historically accurate clan/regimental system where a couple guys, possibly admins or some people who has a lot of respect in the community, that become the generals and staff, and then people start there own historically accurate regiments or join them, for battalions and work together in those battalions and corps. And if they fail to maintain them they will be "discharged" and replaced by a more competent leader? I can just imagine competetive play where there is the U.S.A vs the C.S.A and all the regiments/battalions/corps/companies/armies are run by real people and everyone is actually communicating and moving in formations and performing tactics that were used at that time making it a historically accurate and extremely satisfying experience xD.
Thanks for reading. :)
