So, as the name suggests, how is networking for the game going? Have you started yet? Any new predictions you can give us concerning the number of players planned per server? Thanks devs! :D

Well, Brave and I come from the land of the FSE forums where many people do such things. It gets annoying after a while and is looked down upon. :p

Well, it has happened a total a three times on this forum. I happen to find it annoying to point it out literally every time it happens. No one cares >.> But who am I anyways?

So, we have yet to have single post be on topic XD Lets fix that. How many players per server do you think would suffice? (This one's for devs) Do you have any predictions on what is a possible max that the engine can handle while still maintaining performance?

200 on NaS can cause some intense lag spikes so picking a max is going to be critical.

Well we must keep in mind that M&B doesn't exactly offer the best of servers ;)

Right now, the best that we can tell you is that we have very high hopes. Take a look at this, for instance:

Now, I am the historical adviser, not a technical one, but there are many factors that go into how many people might be able to log onto a single server while still maintaining play-ability, but the various instances of MMO's based off of Cryengine software are very promising in terms of server population sizes.
As we mentioned before, we will be pretty happy to start off with ~200 people. We definitely want to get many more than that, but as of right now we cannot say or promise anything.
I thank you for all of your patience, and I look forward to possibly bringing some very good news on this front.

That's what I like to hear George! 200 is a great start. I hope one day a game like this or even this game will see the thousands :D

I hope that one day we can get to actual skirmish sized servers. I'm talking about 1,000 people on one server for an event.

Yep. That would truly be awesome. Planetside 2 has been able to get into the thousands I believe. That shows it can be done on the networking side as long as the engine can run it fine.

Well we don't know yet. I believe developers (I'm not sure) said that 200 will definitely be possible but probably more than that. Don't quote me on that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct here, the devs are currently aiming to support around 200 players initially.
