Horses are some of the best sword fighters in the world. Good luck finding your horse, and I will let you know when I cook him and eat him. :)

I just hope it isn't a block and your whole body is protected system. I hate those chink chink systems.

Please Make the combat Like mount and blade Napoleonic wars.
If you wil make it like that , Probaly everyone wil swap over to this game, because it looks so fantastic!
Keep doing the great work!

This system wont work for WoR and i think just copying from other games wont work either, since i am reading this forum for more then 2 years i am pretty sure that the devs are able to develop their own ideas. I am wondering why players these days just want to have the same game all over again in another suit....

Lmao Soulfly +Rep for you sir and as far as sword fighting is concerned I would much rather have a new fresh system but I would like it to be a non targeting combat style... Just as long as we are talking about Sword fighting with swords and not our pen-..... Eh nevermind xD

I can't wait to see what the devs come up with for the melee system.

I would assume something non targeted so it's more skill based then stabby stabby dead.

Yes, it should definitely be a non-targeting melee system. I hate to be another person who says this, but something in common with mount and blade... sorry...

I think the Devs should look to chivalry for inspiration

i read a post a while ago and i think the devs said that they aren't going to make the melee to advance and are just planning on doing a basic melee system i think. i think they are more focused on ranged combat but melee is indeed a must for this game but i dont think its going to be like nw. its probably going to be more basic.

Explain basic since that can mean 100 different things now a days.

I'm trying to imagine the work it would take to program all the different actions necessary for melee with all the different figures playing. Not to mention the terrain they'd be fighting over...under....around....and through. ooooeee I'm getting dizzy.

I hope generally there is less stabbing and more slashing when it comes to sword fighting.

Rithal

Well games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance have accomplished a realistic fighting system, however War of Rights probably doesn't need to go that far for a few bayonets and some sabers here and there.

I've always thought that only officers carried swords/sabers and the enlisted men carried their bayonets and maybe a knife of some design. Is everyone in the game going to be an officer???

Nope. Not everyone can be an officer realistically. So most of the melee combat will be with bayonets and rifles.

by basic i mean just simple block and stab etc etc and not the mouse sweeping like we see in NW.

I hope it's 1930's movie style sword fighting. I can finally be Errol Flynn!
