I agree with you but what did you expect when you bought Technical Alpha access? We are their testers

On a serious note, you (the devs) should prioritize fixing crashes so they don't happen in the future before adding extra features like morale. the crashes weren't this bad before the update and should be addressed.

Yeah, unless crashes will constantly be naturally added by content updates, client stability should be the focus.

alpha, beta, gamma or what ever once you start to charge money for your game and put it on steam you run out of oppsies and people expect the normal things like servers to work right i would stop all and work on making your servers stable new maps, moral and what ever dont mean jack if the servers dont work
first rule of online game stable servers make it so scotty or stumby i mean trusty sorry
been playing this game for 3-4 weeks and last 2 or 3 or events have been ruined by unstable servers or by unsavory people i think the later has been taken care of now fix the first

Thank you for the report.
The issue was introduced in patch 66 and as you see in patch 67 we thought it was fixed - so it's not something that isn't a priority for us, quite the opposite.
You can't stop all work across the board (unless you want team members like myself, a level designer to blindy fumble around in the server code). The people that know about how to fix these things (programmers) are looking into it.
I agree with your Steam statement which is why we're not selling a product there yet.

Players need to remember they didn't "pay" for this game they "contributed" money to funding its development and in return they gave us access to "Technical Alpha". Normally this is restricted to professional play testers who are there to try to crash the game not play it. The whole point of "Alpha" then "Beta" testing is to try to crash the servers, find bugs and exploits, test whether the game is balanced, etc.
We all need to show up for scheduled event so we can see if we can crash the server.
We need to get 64 people online to see if the game can handle the graphics and activity.
We need to try to exploit tactics like melee to see if they are going to allow future players to gank the game.
Or to quote a company that hires people to Alpha test:
"Our closed alpha testing program is for 'the crashologists' wanting to test with the very latest version of Live in early development. Apply to join the alpha program . "
I think contributing $69+ to be able to be a "crashologists" for possibly one or two years is a good deal.;)

Lightfoot has summed it up rather excellently.
By submitting to the Technical Alpha and making a donation towards development at such an early stage, you're in this for the long haul alligator136 and should not be expecting immediate results.

Unfortunately after the latest update not the fix patch we are able to do that proficiently as to the rest we can not get to them because we are to good at the first.
Hopefully the server problems are fixed quickly (yes there was a fix patch and it was thought to have fixed it) so we can get back to the rest.
Another CE3 Game Miscreated had similar problems with crashing (which they now seem to have solved, 50 Player servers) apparently the CE3 Engine has some weirdness with this (Syncing large numbers of Players) and they had to get Crytek themselves to fix the issue (Specialised update to their build of the Engine or something).
Maybe the WOR Devs could contact them because this issue persisted in Miscreated for absolutely ages and it'd be annoying to see the same in WOR.

We are using CE5, not 3. :)
Miscreated has sold more than 700.000 copies so their budget is quite on a another level compared to ours.
We can get crytek to do stuff for us also - but it isn't cheap.
You should experience less crashes when we upgrade to CE 5.4

Might be worth looking into.
I remember following it on their forums, at first they released a load of fixes (from their in-house Coders) and each time everyone hoped this'd be the patch that made the servers stable but none of them worked (or if they did work the same problem would pop up but in a different way) and they finally just said they'd contacted Crytek as it was something Hardcoded Within the Engine causing it.
Not sure what version of the Engine they use, but back when this was happening I think it was just the standard license anyone can get on Steam.

You don't get Crytek to create specific programming solutions for you for free. :P
That being said, the servers should be fairly stable (there was a server side hotfix applied a few days ago) now. Please do let us know if any of you experience server crashes (entire server playerbase crashing at the same time, server not sohwing up in the browser shortly thereafter).

As Alpha testers it is our scared duty to get on there an crash those servers.:)
That's our job. To see if their latest patches fixed it or, more likely, made it worse.
Even if they get it working, the next game upgrade could make it worse than ever.
Some companies that I have Alpha/Beta tested for designated certain days and times for as many people to try to log on as possible to see when the servers would crash. Stress testing servers is an important part of testing.
So do your duty! Crash those suckers.
The Union forever, hurrah boys, hurrah
Down with the servers and up with the star
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again
Shouting the battle cry of freedom
