This list of known issues and fixes will be continually updated as new fixes are being discovered.

Is the game unable to start?

Make sure all Windows updates are installed. Especially if you are running Windows 7.
It was recently discovered that if you are using Windows 7 and you dont have the Windows 7 SP 1 Conveniance Update, the game wouldn't launch. It can be downloaded here: https://support.microsoft.com/da-dk/help/3179573/august-2016-update-rollup-for-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2
Make sure DirectX is fully updated: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
Make sure your graphics driver is fully updated, Nvidia: https://www.geforce.com/drivers AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Make sure the entire War of Rights folder (usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\War of Rights") is whitelisted by your antivirus program. If you are unable to whitelist the entire folder. Whitelist the "War of Rights/bin/win_x64/WarOfRights.exe" file. We have primarily experienced issues with Avast and AVG.
Download and install vc_redist.x64.exe from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads direct file download link: https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
Go to Apps & Features. The place where you uninstall programs in Windows. Find all occurences of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable and uninstall them. Then download and install vc_redist.x64.exe from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads direct file download link: https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
If everything else fails and your hardware should be good enough and you are not running Windows 10, upgrade to Windows 10: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Is the game unable to start after a recent update?

Delete War of Rights on Steam. Right click on War of Rights and select "Delete local content" press "Delete" in the confirmation window.
Navigate to your Steam folder containing all of your downloaded Steam games, usually found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common. Delete the War of Rights folder located there (this cleans up any files from previous versions of the game that might not have been deleted prior to the download of the update).
Redownload War of Rights via Steam.

7519

If deleting all the game files and redownloading them, doesnt fix the issue. Try deleting all the games user files. This will reset all the games graphics settings and keybindings to their defaults as well as delete possible user created, corrupt shaders.

Windows 10 C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Saved Games\warofrights
Windows 8 C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Saved Games\warofrights
Windows 7 C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Documents\My Games\warofrights

Performance problems

If you are already running on the lowest settings, but still struggling with maintaining a playable framerate on an almost empty server. The following may help a little bit. It disables some of the objects in the world, including roads, the sun, shadows, water and other things.

Download this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3uzqn5igflvb63u/user.cfg?dl=0
Place the file in the root of the War of Rights installation folder, it can usually be found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\War of Rights"
Start War of Rights and make sure the Overall Spec setting in the graphics options is set to Low.

Bug with some doors functioning wrong on Roulette lane

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjkB2juUrgw&feature=youtu.be

Another weird visual bug (not quite blindness) where I seem to keep the stains of the start screen (where it outlines the scenario when you spawn). I respawn at about 1:50 and keep the same look again

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bqto4jItVc&feature=youtu.be

Another even weirder one that made me feel like I'm on an acid trip. I try changing graphic settings late video and it crashes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOSxY73ybNk&feature=youtu.be

I've started getting a bunch of these with the last few versions. I do sometimes go back to desktop to start recording and such. I didn't edit any of these videos so I start recording and return from desktop (recording hotkeys don't work for me while I'm in WoR)

Thank you for the report. :)

The doors in that particular house will be fixed in the next update.

Have you managed to replicate either of the two other reported issues? (if so please go into detail regarding how you did it - we've not seen either of them reported before).

How long has it been since you've done a clean install of the alpha (deleting the game via steam, then deleting the remaining war of rights folder in steamapps/common before redownloading it)?

What kind of system are you running and are your drivers up to date?

Probably Not. I'll try that

The game runs poorly, the cpu usage is on 100% while the gpu is on 30-40%.
I get 40-50 fps on empty maps, 20-30 on detailed maps, medium settings.

my specs:
gtx 1060 6gb
i5 7500 3.6ghz
16gb ram, ddr4 2400mhz
..........................................

I get these errors in console while my bluetooth earphones don't work:
<22:28:54> [Error] <Flash> Missing "Bookman Old Style" glyph 'T' (0x2654) in "_level0.sceneManagerHolder.movieClip.mcTabView.pla yerList_lsbx.container.renderer7.txtUsaUnit".

They work if I turn the mic off and leave just sound on

You are likely bottlenecked by your CPU.

The more players on a server the higher the CPU requirements - please refer to our roadmap for planned optimizations: https://steamcommunity.com/games/424030/announcements/detail/1718584000970084255

It's been consistently working for me since some time in December, before which it seldom worked. What it actually does is it seems to minimize the game so it's not full screen anymore and then close after about 10-15 seconds.

Hi all,

I wanted to make a new thread but I don't think I have enough posts. I love this game, but after about a week it started crashing within 10 minutes of loading the game each time. No idea why this started. Basically, within 10 or so minutes of in-game time, the audio and graphics get choppy and then freeze for a few seconds. It then crashes back to this screen:

10568

Also, for whatever it's worth (maybe it's related, maybe not), it seems that the map described on the loading screen and the map we actually load are different (eg, two different skirmishes at Antietam).

I am using an Intel i3 8100 (3.6 GHZ), 8GB ram, and an nVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 2GB graphics card. No performance issues at all until it crashes. Actually runs quite well until the crash.

Please help me figured out the problem. I was loving this game and suddenly it's become unplayable!

Its very likely because your system is far below the Minimum System Requirements, your system just can't handle it and crashes.

It's possible, but I hope not. It was working perfectly fine for about a week, including some 2+ hour binges. Now it suddenly begins crashing within 10 minutes. There also don't seem to be any performance issues until it crashes.

Asking people to delete the entire game and reinstall is kind of a ridiculous fix, after latest update i am now getting stuck at the cry engine screen :( If anything only a specific file would be bad, like a settings file but they should program the update correctly, this is kinda not acceptable to sell a game that can't update properly. I am not going to reinstall the game every update!!

I know, but this needs fix.

they have memory leaks... the game slows down really bad after playing for a while too... it appears the code is probably a mess... smh

the game doesn't exit because they don't dispose of all the objects in memory the game uses so the process stays open since it has objects sitting in memory that the game lost reference to... and to clear memory you have to kill the task. Their code is sloppy, simple as that. At least the game starts for you, I'm stuck at the Cry Engine screen after latest update. This is amateur and I am upset I paid for this game in the state it is in. It was a non public alpha forever then they brought it to steam you would figure it would be in a working state.

Its very likely because your system is far below the Minimum System Requirements, your system just can't handle it and crashes.

There really is nothing special about this game... to say people have a PC that is below requirements is a really far fetched excuse... it is possible if you are dealing with a broke ass person but most people who bought this game knew what they were getting into! My PC purchased in 2011 runs this game perfectly fine (Until the memory leaks slow it down). I can also play all the other cpu/gpu intense games on steam like Arma/Squad/etc

This game is nothing special. I can play Nations at War no problem, I can play Napoleonic Warfare easy, I can play any of the 200 games in my steam library with my i5 2500k and radeon hd6950 and 16gb ddr3 1600mhz on msi board with 500gb ssd at 66% capacity full... my pc can play any game other than VR and this game has memory leaks and runs like crap... so I would strongly disagree with your typical excuse. This game is in a terrible state presently. Anyone who has programmed before for video games can tell what is going on here ;)

Look at a professional development team like Dice... they make Battlefield... that game has way more shit going on than this one yet they know what they are doing and can code a shooter in their sleep with very few bugs... that game has so much action and stuff going on... it would run laps around this game. This game is poorly programmed!

c39687

If deleting all the game files and redownloading them, doesnt fix the issue. Try deleting all the games user files. This will reset all the games graphics settings and keybindings to their defaults as well as delete possible user created, corrupt shaders.

if the shaders are the issue, why tell the user to delete the entire folder and lose their settings??? there is a shader folder you can just delete if the issue is corrupted shaders... why delete the keybindings too?? this is terrible advice :/

I take it you don't have a clue about what is going on nor have ever been a part of the industry if you compare our two-man programming team as well as our early access alpha with Dice. :)

In any case, if you are stuck at the cryengine screen you are likely either using an anti virus software that is blocking needed game files from running, having a corrupt client or hardware not supported by the engine.

We'd rather go slow and steady as we have done these past several years than risk killing the game by over-expanding the dev team (and thus our monthly spending). Had we bitten the bullet, say, during the crowdfunding campaign we would have had to fire people later on due to lack of funds.

That being said, we are of course always on the lookout for talent to possibly join up - talented CE programmers with proper experience are, however, extremely rare beasts. :)

Of course its your game and your philosophy on the way to go forward .... however as time ticks by, will the loyal community sit by happy with 'SLOOOOOoooooow, often painfully slow and steady!' or will other games tempt us away? Its only natural to fill this void with other games and currently its only the Die-hards (me included) and the newly purchased thats keeping this game active on the servers. Its a painful process, and I'm beginning to questioning your philosophy...sorry.

Feel free to question it away. :)

I have the livelihood of quite a few people to consider so excuse me if I tend to stick to what has been proven to work for our project.

It's all a balance act. How much cash are you willing to spend in order to advance the project (if you can find qualified people to spend it on) which basically equals to how big of a risk of going out of business are you willing to take?

We've gone with the safer approach which is having a core team and sticking to that. As stated earlier, had we gone with the "speedy" approach during some of the harder times we might not have any core team left now to develop the game due to having had to let most of the people go in order to survive said hard times.

None of what you said is true. And I don't care how big your team is... you are operating a for profit business... if you want to kneecap your profits by keeping it as a two man development team then your code is always going to be bugged because whoever is doing the coding needs help! I changed by Recommended review on Steam to not recommended because you guys are not professionals but rather a couple kids making a video game and you are not up to the task...

Look you moron... I have a clean install of windows 10... i dont install 3rd party garbage antivirus software... i am an advanced pc user. I know how my computer works and how your software SHOULD work... my game also worked perfectly fine (other than the garbage memory leaks you coded in) before the update. SO no it is not my hardware, it is not my antivirus, my problem is actually you. You are a corrupted developer and you write code that corrupts people's clients cause you are an amateur and dont know what you are doing. Go visit the people at EA Dice and ask them for help. You need it. I am just going to uninstall War of Rights and play a better game called Napoleonic Warfare or Nations at War. Fuck you and fuck your 15 fps bullshit shooter garbage! I am glad I didn't get suckered into the private alpha that you asked people to give you $1000s of dollars. I feel bad for anyone who supported you amateurs! You are essentially a thief! I doubt you would have been given a cent if they knew you didn't know how to program ;) Yeah you got my money, you got my $20! You beat me this time. But now I know to never to buy from Campfire. Charming fella.

Thanks, Leifr.

Always great to be called names. The main thing is that we are in business which is a requirement to keep developing the game - we have been for years (thanks to our many backers) and we will be for years as we know how to operate on a tight budget.

Us being able to continue to work on the project which our backers funded is our sole priority as a company. This is what we are commited to and this is what we will do.

And yes, some may think our approach is too slow for their liking. We’re no different than you - we want new stuff the sooner the better as well but we are not going to increase the risk of going out of business, which in turn would be the end of WoR, to possibly achieve a quicker development pace.

More manpower does not always equal quicker content or less buggy releases. We are still new on the Steam Early Access platform - we have no clue what sort of numbers we’ll be seeing a few months from now and without that knowledge hugely expanding the team seems foolhardy at best.

As I have stated several times before: we are in it for the long haul (which is also why we have no estimated time to release out of early access nor dates on our roadmap listed on Steam).

A) Does that make CG 'Sith Lords' ? Since they are corrupted and corrupt others ? .. Remember -> Always two there are !!!
B) EA makes the greatest games, they are hUge, they invented gaming -> If you google gaming, you'll see the EA logo !!!
C) One word : 'Holdfast' , the arcade paradise where you walk around like you've shit your pants !!!
D) Lies ! Fake news brought by EA fanboys -> I get at least got 17-18 fps !!!
E) Yes this is the predecessor of the Star Citizen Campaign, I'm sure Roberts stole the idea here !!!
F) Thank God I paid in Euro's.

So we had are non constructive fun here, however "optimizing" the game would be very beneficial in the long.
And while the financial future of this project is possibly clouded, the technical department is something to cherish (we can all agree on the texture department all is fine, we got smoke signals, footprint tracking of the enemy …)

We're convinced effort is being put in and we get frequent updates, but lot of things get brought up by the community and some feel it's not adequate to keep the playerbase active.

Thanks for the headsup! :)

We introduced a way one can “speedhack” by accident if one does certain things at certain times in the last update.

This glitch will be fixed in the next update. While unfortunate that we introduced this, it did help us locate and fix the root issue that hackers have been exploiting in the past so expect speedhacking to be a thing of the past in the next update (until they find new exploits at least).

(I am NOT using a USB headphone and mic set)

checking (TILDE) consol give this message ----
ERROR [cteamspeak_clientmanager] : : change capture device failed, error 2310,
message:could not open capture device

I have windows 10 and have checked headphones and mic settings several times...
problem seems to be an ingame sound setting BUG ...

i can sometimes get headphones working but NEVER the MIC ---

if i open the options ingame and look at sound settings it is ALWAYS set to DISABLED
in the VOICE CHAT INPUT DEVICE box --- even after being set to mic and SAVED

hope this helps resolve the problem --- completely destroys gameplay for officers

the zuaves unites that have dagger byonets are not showing when putting on byounet..the animation show you putting on the dagger beyonet but when the byounet is on the gun it swich to the regular trooper byonet type..and vers versa..some rifles that have dagger byonet on the rifle when putting it on it have the look of regular beyonet

This has been a known issue for a long time.

Something that I have noticed since one of the patches in December is that when I join a War of Rights server, it takes up a massive amount of my bandwidth. Before I join a server, my ping in a TeamSpeak can start out at 120. Once I am in the server, my ping is 400. I can hear voices clearly ingame, the combat itself seems mostly fine, but it makes it impossible for me to talk with anyone in TeamSpeak while playing. It did not used to be that way before the December patches, and it hasn't been fixed since. Is there a particular reason War of Rights uses so much bandwidth compared to other games?

I couldn't pick up flag as flag bearer after i dropped it. But i could on other class. Also flag bearer should get any weapon in case enemy gets close to him, because he is too easy to kill then.

Hitting "t" sometimes doesn't work for showing names and icon after last update.

Also, choosing to spawn on flag sometimes spawns on main instead.

sure glad C39687 and Charles Caldwell aren't on the Dev team. Ya'll need to learn some respect... and quit talkin trash behind a computer screen. I think they have done INCREDIBLE with what they had to work with.

Moving on...I dug to try and find a report on my issue.. no luck. Maybe ya'll could shed some light on the tree polygons? They are very off. I wish i had 25 cents for every round i put in a tree when trying to fire from behind it.. you have to move almost a full breast from out behind it to engage. Is this a known bug? Is it just certain maps? Happens to me all the time... was hoping to make the radius smaller? any light on the matter would surely be appreciated. keep up the great work. it really does look and play well.. Semper FI

Hello HayWire,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your report.

The issue regarding bullets appearing to be stuck in close proximity to the trees is a visual one only. The actual "code" (and thus killing) bullet does go through it. :)

For the past 3 days, I can hear all players in voice chat simultaneously, regardless of their location. I hear a jumbled mess of 10 people talking at once. I've muted my entire team and still heard voices which were clearly talking about things the other team were doing, so I can even hear the other team's voice chat.

I've restarted both the game and my computer. I'm using a bluetooth headset.

Tried to get some attention to this on the Steam Forums without much luck.

Anyone else have issues with the way the Whitworth sight is shown? I get blurring and a T shaped front post that makes it nearly impossible to use the sight. Seems a bit of a counter towards a rifle that's supposed to be some of the most accurate hardware on the field. Is this issue unique to me? Had this across two different systems and it still shows no matter what graphical settings I use.

Thanks!

Edit: Dunno why the file is so shrunken down, you can still kinda see the weird T shape of the front sight though.

I am currently unable to join any skirmish servers and only see the pop-up "Joining Game" and that is all that happens. I am able to join drill camps and have uninstalled several times and reinstalled but this has not helped. It will eventually time out and say Failed to Join after 5 minutes or so.

My game is currently installed on my C: drive as well. Clearing the local data from my Saved Games folder did not resolve the issue either. I checked the game log and the message "Send reliable connection lcid 0 addr 90130071879922690 from uid xxxxxxxxxxx:xxx..." is continuously displayed but no connection is ever established.

Has anyone had a similar issue either? I am currently on Windows 10 with an i7 8700k, 1070 card, 16 GB RAM and the game is installed on my 500 GB SSD. I have tried connecting thru my WiFi and Ethernet as well

Hi there!

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the alpha.

Please list your internet connection speed.

Also, how many populated servers have you tried joining? It is possible that you have been banned (we don't have a message system able to inform you of this yet as it is directly tied to the client connection management on the server we've been working on overhauling for the past year now) if you are unable to join a specific server.

I've sent the game log file you sent us over for our programmers to investigate.

I'm getting the issue where it's stuck on establishing context, game never loads when attempting to join any populated server. I've put a few posts in the steam discussion boards. when I do manage to get into any server I'll either get a world freeze(i can move but everything around me freezes) after 5-10 minutes of playing, or when trying to slot on I'll get a message saying, "error occurred when selecting class". the class selection doesn't reset when I get the error.

Hi there!

Please list your internet connection speed.

"Everything freezes" is a partial disconnect, often caused by a slow internet connection not being able to keep up and thus, at least partially, dropping you.

cable internet hardwired. 80 MB/s down, 10-15 MB/s up. I should also add that I used to be able to play without these types of issues. I would have the usual memory leak where after about 4-5 matches you have to restart game, but now i can not play at all

Hi there!

It sounds like you're missing needed game files so you can't launch the game.

Are you running any sort of anti virus software?

If you are, please be sure to add the entire War of Rights folder found in Steam/steamapps/common to the list of exceptions found in the settings of your anti virus software, then verify your game files via Steam.

As of right now, the most recent patch has broken so much for what seems to be no discernable reason. Right now, a large portion of my regiment has issues even launching the game with some sort of memory issue. Stone walls are currently bugged as well and are penetratable by bullets. Hitboxes are also suddenly massive, often times team-killing the player to my direct left or right while firing in a line. In one instance I have even managed to stab players behind me. The most recent patch has absolutely busted this game and made the game an absolute nightmare to play. Whatever has changed, needs to go back how it was as the game is nearly unplayable now. The immersion is completely broken when an entire line gets schawked by teamkills on each other.

1. Close the game by:
1.1 alt + f4;
1.2 Task manager;
1.3 Restarting PC;
Followed by restarting steam client.
Restart WoR and attempt to connect.

2. Restart Wi-Fi router, reconnect to Wi-Fi network before attemting solution 1..

3. Delete local files of WoR, redownload WoR and attempt to connect.

4. Use "check local files" function of Steam instead of solution 3., validate local files and attempt solution 1..

5. Add WoR to whitelist of your:
5.1 Firewall;
5.2 Antivirus software
before attempting solution 1.

6. Alternatively, shut down 5.1 and/or 5.2 before attempting solution 1. (This one has solved my issue)

This is not a comprehensive list but it covers all the solutions I have tried.
I hope this would be useful for people getting into the same frustrating situation as I have.

Hi Everyone,

I searched, but couldn't find an answer to this question. I've been playing and loving WoR for over 35 hours on the same machine, but today was the first time i found myself staring at the "Joining Game - Entering the battlefield, turn back now.." without end. I waited upward of ten minutes and nothing happened. This was the US East server with around 140 players which is what I usually join.

I tried a smaller server and loaded in but the game crashed twice after asking me to choose my faction. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game (and deleting the folder from the steam folder in my C: program files). I tried restarting the computer. But nothing seemed to help. Any advice?

Thanks in advance

Several exploits using artillery, discovered by the Kentucky Battery of the Serpent's Brigade:

- Animation cancelling. Certain artillery-related animations, such as sponging, ramming, and grabbing new shells, can be cancelled midway through their animation in order to save time on completing them. Having said that, none of them can be cancelled in a way that breaks immersion (you still complete the task, you're just doing it a bit more quickly or perhaps a bit less thoroughly), so it's not that big of an exploit. It might even be a feature for all I know. Each animation has a different time at which you should cancel in order to still complete it.

For sponging: Cancel just shortly after the sponge touches the back of the barrel and makes its first tap.
For ramming: Cancel just after the ram has touched the back of the barrel.
For picking up shell: Cancel just after the shell physically enters the character's hands.

- Double firing. This is definitely an exploit - it was recently discovered that if you have multiple people set up the cannon's primer, you can effectively fire infinitely without reloading so long as you time it right. This is done by having one player set up the primer, and then having another player also go to set up the primer. As he's reaching for the primer, the cannon can be fired - so long as it's timed right, the second man will finish priming after the cannon has been fired, allowing him to simply fire a second time. The second man can then trade places with the first and continue the process infinitely, so long as they keep timing it right. This is hard to do perfectly, but with some practice you can nail it down and do it pretty regularly. This also comes with the added benefit of the cannon's recoil either not happening at all, or being minimal, so you can essentially treat your cannon almost like a stationary semi-auto rifle - this needs to be patched quickly!

I am also aware of glitches which allow for the cannons to "fly" and allow for no recoil to be felt, but I'm not sure how to reproduce these yet. Will post again when I know.

Good to hear from the WoR devs on this! Here's the promised update on the flying cannon glitch, as shown by Private SilverSmurfen:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbQcdQgIL4&feature=youtu.be

This is just silly more than anything, but nevertheless a bug.

Here's a bit of a (unedited and awkward) video, which doesn't have any game audio due to a glitch in the recording software, and has a bit of uncomfortable eating ASMR from me as a result. Regardless, at timestamp 24:13, one can clearly see how the double priming glitch is done and how it can be reproduced somewhat reliably. Hope this helps!

Howdy folks, I'm Equanimity, I've played the game since it's release in EA on steam in 2018 mainly as a public officer but I have been in regiments before, here is my short essay on 2 issues, one recent one old that haven't been really brought up here as of yet.

----New Bug, "Invisibility"----

New bug me and one of the regulars on a public server found - today at roughly 8PM CET on the full server (Anderson's public something, its still full), me and 3 others constantly kept dying shortly after we'd spawn to nothing. The effects of melee would happen, we would hear a stab, and our screen would be bloodied, then another and we would die. Also, we could hear a rebel screaming "die yanks" and footsteps but we couldn't see him - "they" exclusively targeted officers (like myself and Cpt. Cody) along with flagbearers who would "mysteriously" die after two stabs from seemingly nowhere, for reference both CSA units were about 100 yards away from us shooting at us and so we dubbed the issue "the invisible reb glitch", it happened on two separate maps and under similar circumstances, we figured it was something similar to the speed glitch/hack.

Now we have no idea who did it or how, but it is quite definitely game-breaking if it can be repeated.

----The Issue of no limits or safe-guards on who picks officer and trolling----

Another separate issue I'd like to bring up is that of there being nothing limiting the picking of the officer class in public matches (it's not an issue in reg battles for obvious reasons).

A brand new player who picks officer class without knowing really what it does and who, when the servers are full, is expected to lead anywhere from 30-50 other players can absolutely ruin the experience for not just his unit but his entire team given his lack of ability. It was a bit of an issue two years ago but it is more so now and regulars can really see it with the effect of the sale. I'm extremely happy the sale brings in lots of new people and I respect the hard work all the developers put but if we have new players that come in and their first experience is a brand new guy who takes officer and trolls it's not going to make them want to come back. Some regimental leaders might say, "ah but public battles aren't the real thing, its fine we can get them in regiments, and it's not an issue here" - the question is if we can't even retain new players in the game because of crappy brand new officers how can you recruit them? Its an important issue that should be addressed so that the game can retain more players, regs can recruit more, and the public matches can be more enjoyable.

Just to give an example, today, when the servers were full at around 11PM CET, we had one officer for the Wisconsin line who was brand new, it was his first match and he took the slot because, and I quote his exact words "I want the pistol". He did not lead his regiment, instead teamkilling the 2 NCOs who were trying to (just under the damage limit so he didn't get banned) and just suicided his regiment repeatedly. It was the map with the 19th Indiana and the Winsconsin attacking a sunken down stonewall - the moment the officer started the really bad trolling , spamming paragraphs in chat as to impede our communication most of the guys in that reg simply switched to indiana (for context I was the officer there) and by some excellent work of the pubs and good NCOs in the indiana unit we somehow managed to win, but 9 times out of 10 we would have gotten absolutely destroyed all due to one guy who took a slot and trolled.

I know there aren't many "easy answers" to this problem but ill give a bit of food for thought nonetheless:

- Community driven initiative to have more admins on servers ,asking the people who run the servers that fill up the most to keep admins on essentially.
- Much more global admins by hiring/ or by volunteers, selecting people to be global admin and check servers for rule-breaks that apply to all servers (griefing, racism etc) to police servers at peak time and kick officer trolls (and arty).
- Giving the option to by vote, force an officer out of their role during a battle, like a sort of mutiny, im not sure as to how historically accurate that would be so if you were to consider this you'd have to consult your expert.
- Barring players with less than X hours ingame (i'd suggest 1 hour) from taking officer slot, or by some experience mechanism (e.g 1 battle fought = 1 lvl, after lvl 1 you can take the slot).
- A warning when picking officer with a short paragraph describing the role that you would have to confirm/ click yes to pick it that would pop up when you clicked on the role.

Im aware that there are crappy officers with hundreds of hours but as a general rule, it's less common than someone who picked up the game 5 minutes ago which is why i do not comment on it.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Equanimity

Hello. I've been playing War of Rights for a bit over a year now. Everything was fine for most of this period. A few months now, I've been having an issue in drill camp where I can't see any popups of the board at the shooting range or the artillery range. It basically doesn't show if I or anyone else hit. I've tested this on the first set of targets as well.
I've tried verifying the game cache on steam and reinstalling the game, but the issue persists. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You've likely turned off the automatic HUD popup in your gameplay options. This will supress any kind of UI popup that happens automatically, target hits included.

Looking around using the alt key causes weapon aim to become misaligned

Holding the alt key to look around and then releasing the key (view will snap back to the front) does not re-center the camera and weapon aim correctly. The weapon will no longer be aligned to the center of the screen. Tapping the alt key again (without moving the mouse) will realign the weapon.
Especially at greater distances, this might cause your aim to be completely off.

Before using alt key:

After using alt key (head was turned all the way to the right) :

Hello War of Rights Developers,

Is there any advice you can give on a player who chooses a critical role like the (flagbearer or the officer) and refuses to proceed further in deploying on flag or infantry deployment? A player today, who we suspect to be an intentional troll, selected the flagbearer role for 20th ME on Pry House and never spawned in. Despite multiple players respawning and checking, he always had the role, but the status of "flag dropped" was shown since the beginning of the match.

Would you be able to develop some kind of automated mechanic to prevent the permanent selection without spawning in as a critical role?

Thanks,
Rawlins

Thanks for the two above posts. :)

We'll investigate the misalignment issue. It's the first time we've seen it reported but that doesn't mean it's not a thing.

I've heard of this, Rawlins and we're currently discussing ways of specifically preventing this. While the major system that is currently on the drawing board (we'll share more details about it in an upcoming field report) is set to greatly help non-admined servers regulate themselves (general trolls, bad officers, flag bearer trolls, tk'ing trolls, VoIP spammers, artillery trolls are all subject to regulation via it) I do suspect that additional changes are required to fully remove the ability to exploit simply not spawning in after selecting the flag bearer role in particular.

The current suggestion I've brought to the programming team is simply to instantly spawn the flag bearer once the class has been selected in the regimental/class selection screen. There is absolutely no point in not spawning in as fast as you possibly can when you are a flag bearer and so I don't see an issue with it. I'm no programmer though so we'll have to wait and see what their feedback to the suggestion is. :)

Hello dear developers

Since I have not participated in enough convos, I cannot yet post my own thread. I love the game, but lately when I have been playing it, War of Rights has crashed my internet so to speak. My computer had a hard time to reconnect to the internet. I don't have this problem with any other game. Is there a fix for this that I have not yet found anywhere?

Best regards.

Hello War of Rights Developers,

There seems to be a secondary way to Aim Down the Sights that doesn't appear intentionally designed and seems to provide minor advantages to those aware of it. I wanted to confirm if this is just part of the base infantry functions or a bug.

When an infantryman Aims Down Sights by holding a right click and then releases the right click for a moment, the infantryman can ADS again by scrolling the mouse wheel up. However, this mouse wheel scroll up version of the ADS is vastly accelerated compared to right click ADS and it appears to resume the minimized sway at the tail end of a conventional ADS rather than re-animate sway patterns from their proper start. There are some minor advantages to this mousewheel ADS and I just wanted to understand if this was an intentional thing or possibly a bug.

In addition, if the gun is sighted up to a special ranged sight (like 300 yards), the mouse wheel ADS will remove the special sighting part of the animation and just show a normal 100 yard sight.

And while we're on this topic of the special longer range sights, the Sharps Rifle's 300+ versions of sights have animations that are identical to the default 100 yard sight options. This is a second issue, and appears to be only a visual thing as the extended sights do appear to behave correctly even though they look incorrect.

Thanks,
Rawlins

Hello,

Until the next update patches for the side-switching exploit that allows members from the other team to spawn on the enemy flag as the other team's uniform and kill while avoiding a automatic team kill back, would you be able to ban some of the steam accounts doing it severely? The below account was be the most disruptive possible.

This "Ruth Nightingale" player is ruthlessly doing the team kill/team swap exploit on the War of Rights Official Server 6 tonight, 6/12/21. I've got a 4 minute recording of him just mowing down as many union as possible, but he was doing this the entire match.

Autobalance feature is bugged on pub servers and sometimes remains always off. In a harpers ferry match the USA had 20 more men than the CSA fluctuating a little les if new people joining the server chose CSA but we were constantly outnumbered. It seemed like the auto-balance feature for the pub match was not working whatsoever.

This isn't really a bug report but I'd like to say that I've been experiencing underwhelming performance with an AMD RX5700XT GPU and a Ryzen 5 5600X processor. My mates say their games run 60fps steady, but I can drop down to 48 when graphically maxed out. I am only on 1080p.

Hi there,
First time on this forum, so hope you don't mind my hitching onto your post; you look like the right people to solve my login issue!
I am having logging in to WoR since the latest 179 and 180 updates.
Accessing WoR appears to be going through the usual start up process, offering access to the various servers that I normally see. I am a PUB user and am selecting one of the open access events...so far so good. The start up goes as normal showing the scenario and context loading, but then a blank scene, followed shortly thereafter by the following message:
Warning. Timeout occurred -no packet for 57.8 seconds.
I press ok which just throws me back to main menu; this is happening repeatedly.
Any idea why this might be please. I am using a lap top with plenty of memory on Windows 10 and have not had this issue for the past year since subscribing to the game. I have tried reinstalling the game but it hasn't made any difference.

CHC,

Please see Trusty's post above yours and follow his recomendation. Devs can't fix stuff they don't recieve logs on. :)

I do. :) Thanks.

BTW, don't do like jj6138 above who posted all his system information here on a public forum .... it's not a smart thing to do. Personal information in that wall of text.

Use the Error reporter in the WoR folder.

It looks like you are experiencing some problems logging into WoR (World of Realms) after the recent updates 179 and 180. From your description, it appears that the startup process runs smoothly, and you can access the servers and select open access events as usual. However, after loading the script and context, you are greeted with an empty scene and then the message, "Warning. Timeout occurred - no packets for 57.8 seconds". Pressing the "OK" button takes you back to the main menu, and it repeats several times. Very similar to the situation when I was getting my driver's license, it was very difficult, and a friend just bought https://fairyid.com/product/hawaii-fake-id/ driver's license and did not bother at all, it was frustrating) Based on the information you have given us, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of this problem. However, several possible causes come to mind. First, you may have a network connection problem. Have you checked your Internet connection to make sure it is stable? Sometimes a weak or intermittent connection can lead to timeouts and game crashes.

When I attempt to use voice chat it makes my game crash is there a fix for this?
