Aye, if you haven't already then I'd highly suggest playing Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. That's a really enjoyable game in my opinion.

Best part of Bound in Blood however, in my opinion is the beginning. Fighting in the whatever Civil War battle it's meant to portray (doesn't help that it doesn't give an exact date / location but whatever.)

Just bought Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood from g2a.com. They are both great games and I already beat Gunslinger XD. I am about a third of the way done with Bound in Blood and I am happy to find some sort of free roam mechanic in parts of the game. Even though it only opens up a big empty desert.... its still pretty cool. I was a little disappointed in the Civil War intro, but it was still somewhat satisfying.

Nah. The engine for the game wouldn't work well with large scaled battles. It just wouldn't be a good fit between mod and vanilla game imo.

Well yea, but it would be cool to go around and see soldiers and minor skirmishes. Maybe the big battles could be missions.

I'm pretty sure Red Dead isn't even easily moddable like mount and blade is for example. It would probably take years to get anything out of Red Dead that even came close to resembling the Civil War.
