The most frustrating thing is if you're kneeling and aiming then stand up, you autmoatically sholder arms and have to re-aim.

Is this going to be fixed?

We should aim, stand up and the animation should be smooth to the point of standing you should still be aiming.

Would be nice if it went to 'ready' instead. Equally annoying is when you just finish a sprint and go straight to shoulder arms.

Good points.

In both cases having it default to "ready" for now would be an improvement, only shouldering when you specifically click the button for it. That would (IMO) make skirmishing flow more naturally.

I absolutely agree that we should at least have us default to at-the-ready when we go from aiming in a crouch, to standing. I would love if they allowed us to stand up from a crouch whilst aiming, and simply give us a moment of heavy rifle sway.

I find that the current system is crippling to game play, and makes what advantage we have from crouching behind a fence when the enemy is charging almost completely insignificant.

I know that it's still relatively early development, and that animations will become smoother as it progresses.

It's all a little wonkey. As I've played more I've become increasingly less patient with the parade-field crap. I think it can serve a purpose but the default go-to positions should all be more sensical than that whether sitting still or moving. It's nice to have animations for the various positions and people will use them but it shouldn't be mandated by automation in any situation, let alone close combat where any player of any engagement in the history and the game is going to be frustrated at times by the arbitrary restrictions on infantrymen.
