I was wondering if it would be possible to change the kill system, in such a fashion that when a player gets shot down he will lay briefly on the ground in a near-death state.
There would then be a surgeon class that revive these people to get them back in combat. The players revived would then be classified as "Wounded soldiers" and will have several debuffs. (Lowered reload speed, lower bayonet stab damage and mounting speed, tunnel vision and increased weapon-sway.)

A wounded soldier would have their health pool reduced so that a single bayonet stab can kill them and if they get shot again, they die instantly.

This was not how things was done back then by the civil war armies.

The musicians in the band (if the regiment had one) was used to help the wounded back to a point behind the lines.
No one else where allowed to fall out of the line to help the wounded.


Helping the wounded was done after the battle... if they were lucky.




Other armies did things a lot better... but that is a different topic.

This has been a debate before, and people overwhelmingly said no to it and thought it would ruin the atmosphere.
