History
There is not much known about the 1st Michigan Sharpshooters Company K other than it was a Native American Company, Therefor We'll be Err.. "Improvising" And adding along lore to basically make the Company in our own image. A Blank slate Company, Quite a rare thing.
Rise of the Company
The company started off as a thought. A Thought in a Sergeants mind, a Sergeant Named Kortan. Kortan was serving in the in the 1st Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment, One day Kortan was called over to the Regiments Command post to speak with a higher up. They were Short 1 Sharpshooter Company and required someone to lead a newly formed company, By the name of The 1st Michigan Sharpshooters Company K. They chose Kortan for this position due to the outstanding leadership Kortan had shown as their time as a sergeant, As well as their aptitude for Skirmishing and Most importantly, Sharpshooting. The company was formed on June 9th 1862, The initial men of the company were transferred from the 1st Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The company itself was quite elusive, Rarely seen in camps with Other Companies and Regiments. Some Soldiers even were convinced they were not real, But every Confederate Officer and NCO That Died spontaneously Proved them otherwise. Due to their Elusiveness it is difficult to Determine what Battles were they apart of.
