A Brief History of the 6th Wisconsin

The 6th Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Camp Randall in Madison and was mustered into service on July 16, 1861. The regiment left Wisconsin for Washington, D. C., on July 28, 1861.
During the war it moved from Washington, D.C., through Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. After participating in the defenses of Washington, D.C., it fought at the Second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, and the surrender of Gen. Robert E. Lee and his army. It moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where it was mustered out of service on July 2, 1865.

In just a few short weeks, we've grown to 25 strong! We are still looking for more though. Our Company is also a member of the United Association of Companies, which consists of both Union & Confederate Companies, over 300 members strong. It's goals are to better the community, host and organize events, and provide a "no bullshit" game experience.

Yes, we are. I am in the middle of updating our forum page, but right now we do have drill times on Tuesday & Friday @ 7:30pm EST and Sunday 8:30pm EST, with company event on Saturday @8pm EST.

Today, I have the honor of reporting that our ranks have reached 60 strong! A big thank you to the Black Hats of Company B that have been so dedicated in game, drills, helping new players, and recruiting. I couldn't be happier to be a part of this company and have been given the honor to lead it as we continue on!

The 6th Wisconsin B company will be splitting up into 2 companies. Captain Wally/Ezra will be forming 7th Wisconsin A and we'll be working together as the Iron Brigade
