There should be something for regiments to retreat to at night because when the day night cycle was shown it got pitch black and Generals could place encampments behind the frontlines for the regiments to retreat to at night. But the Generals can only place them far back behind the front lines. This would be historically accurate because at night the north and south would call seize fire but that still doesn't mean that you cant go out at night but it would be a good time to resupply at a camp at night.

This would be great for an MMORPG in my opinion; not sure this really fits what the developers are going after though.

We've discussed this in the past. We aren't really sure what the developers have planned although it seems that a camp environment would be a very very minor feature if its a feature at all.

Actually, some contact does happen at nights. Most of the time generals will move their troops around and rotate them in and out of reserve at night, and sometimes night probing happens, like on the union flank in Gettysburg, geared towards the Iron Brigade
