View Full Version : Colour me confused
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I keep hearing folks talk about 'line battle' events, but EVERY event I've been to we've fought just as civil war soldiers would have done......so just what IS a line battle event????? I realise we don't always use skirmishers, but then neither did they, so I'm not seeing the difference here between what we normally do and a 'line battle' event.

It's supposed to mean we only do line battles, but that's what people do anyway, so it's kinda a waste to say, 'Oh we're only doing line battles.'.

Well, I guess it's easier to say, we do events Friday-Monday at certain times for maximum effect and for everyone to join in. We have large line battles and we have a lot of fun :).

The term "Line Battle Event" came from the NaS days where there were artillery, cavalry, and skirmisher/sharpshooter regiments. Regular events would include all of those whereas Line Battle Events would include only infantry. Important distinction that got lost when the alpha came out as it doesn't include cavalry and artillery.
