I know many are upset by this, I understand why. I think auto balance should work like this... The most recent player that joined the server. No matter how long the battle has been going on, the most recent player that joined the server should be switched. I have played many times in a server for a long period of time. Then randomly I get switched. That is not fair. The players that should get switched are the most recent player that joined the server. If I choose a class or team and I am one of the players that were here first I should not be switched, my class should be locked in. I should not get switched out of my class or team if I have been in the server a lot longer than the most recent player joining. Many other games use this for auto balance. What are your thoughts?

We think it more fair to be evenly spread out and active upon death.


How would you enforce it - forcing people back to the faction selection screen mid-life? this will be very disruptive.
or would you wait until the last player joining is dead? if so that will hurt the effectiveness of the system (a player can be alive for 10 minutes easily)


Also, the last joining player is likely to have joined the outnumbered team in the first place as you are presented with an autobalance check on the faction selection screen when you join a server.

Lastly, this will hurt players with bad hardware/internet connections that have a more unstable experience than others.

If I were to join the server before you, lets say 5 minutes before you teams are even for awhile. Now when teams become uneven you would have to switch before I would have to, After your death of course not while you were still a live.

Maybe a cool down for players who die get put into a waiting pot wait until respawn wave at the reg selection screen this also allowing the game to play out a little more instead of dealing with unrealistic lines of out of liners like a Congo line back to the front just an idea

We currently do spawn players in waves (one every 30 seconds I believe) - have been doing so since the introduction of skirmishes. :)

We might lengthen the respawn wave timer slightly when the flag bearer spawning system is implemented.

This is the one and only thing that annoys people about auto balance, you pick a side at the start of the map, and then you can suddenly find yourself switched to the opposing team.

Would it be an idea to try an Auto Balance that favoured the attacker as equal teams on many of these maps just makes them stagnet?

Right and this Auto balance that I brought up would eliminate that. Many games use this Auto balance, most recent player that joined the server. Not someone that has been on the server for a long time.

Auto balance is just absolutely terrible. I shouldent have to wait 25 minutes to join CSA when the teams are 10-9. Unreal

you shouldnt wait 25m then u have a bug or you are just trolling never in my 19 months playing this game i have ever waited 25m for a game umm i smell something fishy in denmark or is that sweden no offence trusty

I've waited up to 40 minutes to re join CSA before my dude :(
