Hey all! Just made this thread for everyone to share their Living History kits. It doesn't matter which side of the conflict you portray go ahead and post it. If you want feedback and possible assistince on improving your kit dont be afraid to ask.
I'll start the posting with a few impressions I have put together:
First, we have US Volunteer based upon the December of 1862 regulations.
10005
Secondly, we have my early 1862 kit for the Seven Days Campaign
10006
Third, we have my Sharpsburg kit.
10008
Finally, we have my 1864 CS officer kit with all the English Import Fabric.
10007
Looking forward to seeing the posts boys!

Evening Pie.
This is slightly off-topic but do you recall who made your tintype? There are many practitioners in the USA but few master it, yours looks to be made very well. I am a working collodion photographer in the United Kingdom, always interested in what's happening photo-wise.

Yeah, "The Charleston Tintypist" took the tintype. I recolored it because why not.

I'll have to dig my uniforms out of the hardtack boxes in the garage, I have some Wambaugh and Country Child. My more heavily used coats and trousers I hand put together with my wife. (Putting them together saves a lot of money and you can make your own personal alterations.)

Wambaugh used to have frock coat kits, but I guess they quit making them.

Yeah they stopped a while back. I built a single button frock coat with Ben Tart material by measuring out the cuts using the Wambaugh. Didnt want to pay for two sets.

Ben Tart makes just about the best jean you can get. Real nice guy too I used to pick his brain every time I met up with him.

His wife is very nice aswell, gave a few sewing tips.
To A P Hill, while yes Regimental has some of their items, they are usually one offs and marked at first rate prices.

Ben's? I never met her, they got married around the time I hung up my gear. The guy knows his stuff, I believe his Thesis was on 19th century dies or something like that. If I'm not mistaken, he was also the one that brought Indigo died flannel to the market for US sack coats. Up until that point it was just blended wool with very cheap dye that would turn to purple over time.

Not sure about the kits, but they do still sell frocks.

Slightly off topic, but my dad and I got us a couple of those limited run US regulation blankets from them, those things are the best investment we've ever made. Highly recommend them to anyone that needs a blanket to finish compiling their impression.
