Do y'all know of any good drill manuals from the civil war? I want to start a regiment and I want to drill then realistically, I'm interested in the zouave type drill and anything on cannon drill(if there is such a thing) if anyone knows of anything I'd appreciate the help.
Also what should I do to start a regiment? I've never been in one before so I don't really know what I need, any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding regiments alot is being kept quiet on how things will operate. Only public knowledge is regarding a Company Tool they are creating to help run regiments. Regarding drill manuals i think it might be hard to find specific ones. whether you find the normal drill manuals then tweek them, thats an option. Either that or some civil war buff will post a link below :P

I hope I can help on this front:
In terms of drill books, many are long past their copyright date, so it is easy enough to get your hands on free ebooks of them, though scans are hard to compare to having one in hand. So, take a look below at a selection of some of the free versions before I direct you later to physical copies:
Patten's Artillery Drill (1863) (https://books.google.com/books?id=P7MVAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=drill+books&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CEAQ6AEwA2oVChMI-7iKqPSsyAIVgqoeCh2xUAJx#v=onepage&q&f=false)
US Infantry Tactics (1861) (https://books.google.com/books?id=3kAWAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=us+infantry+tactics&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CBwQ6AEwAGoVChMIxeOHufSsyAIVhf0eCh3RzwNF#v=on epage&q&f=false)
Cavalry Tactics (1841) (https://books.google.com/books?id=vUWpwjYNqyQC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false)
Hardee's Rifle and Light Infantry Tactics (1855/1861) (https://books.google.com/books?id=gMrxmmkjEYgC&printsec=frontcover&dq=hardees&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CCUQ6AEwAGoVChMI_eGTrfWsyAIViBseCh1v0Q12#v=on epage&q=hardees&f=false)
Beadle's Dime Squad Drill Book (1861) (https://books.google.com/books?id=SFssAQAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=school+of+the+soldier&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDIQ6AEwBGoVChMI8_igz_WsyAIVhdceCh2FgQoO#v=on epage&q&f=false)
Cooper's Instructions and Regulations for the Militia (1836) (https://books.google.com/books?id=bi5EAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA308&dq=Tactics+and+Regulations+for+the+Militia&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CB0Q6AEwAGoVChMIiuHasfesyAIVgvMeCh3i9g0h#v=on epage&q&f=false)
Kautz Customs of Service for Non-Commissioned Officers and Soldiers (1864) (https://books.google.com/books?id=jHgDAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Kautz+Customs+of+Service&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAWoVChMIsbLn4_esyAIVQ5QeCh3txQhI#v=on epage&q&f=false)
Kautz Customs of Service for Officers (1866) (https://books.google.com/books?id=vIYVAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Kautz+Customs+of+Service&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CCUQ6AEwAGoVChMIsbLn4_esyAIVQ5QeCh3txQhI#v=on epage&q&f=false)
And a much more concise cheat sheet for military etiquette HERE (http://9thvirginia.com/et.html).

The following are links to two places I would personally suggest for getting hard copies of some integral drill books:
Sullivan Press (http://sullivanpress.com/?ec_store=civil-war-items)
Fall Creek Sutlery (https://www.fcsutler.com/fcbooks01.asp)

Hopefully these are of help! Best of luck in your venture!

So, I am new to the whole forum and group aspect of this, but I would like to be a big help, so these regiment groups will be the ones we use in the game itself?

It looks like it, right know we don't know 100% if it will just be in game but right now it looks to be both forum and in game system.

Right know though the Devs. don't want anyone reserving regiments
