Hello. I've put about 25 hours in since getting my keys a couple of weeks back, and have a few suggestions.
1. Officers, NCO's & flagbearer positions should be limited based on hours spent in-game.
For example, to play Officer one needs 20 hours, NCO 15 & flagbearer 10. The first week or so, I was blessed with only encountering good (communicative!) officers and the game was brilliant - I've not seen teamwork between randoms on this scale in an FPS before, and henceforth recommended it to everyone that would listen. However, this weekend I seemed to get stuck with a bunch of bad ones - either not communicating, not drawing lines, not knowing the game mechanics (!), or just plain simply confessing to not even owning a mic. That situation takes away what makes this game great - teamwork. Not masters of tactics, teamwork. And coming into the game experiencing that would have put me off. On the flipside, if no-one with the required hours takes the role (and is perhaps prompted to do so if not), then someone without the hours can select it - but only if refused by more experienced players. While it's nice to see confusion simulated like it maybe was back then, when it has such a detrimental effect on gameplay it's an issue.
2. Officers shouldn't be able to pick the position round after round.
"He who clicks first with the fastest SSD." Again, this makes getting a bad officer worse...if he's picking it every round. Perhaps a timer on the role-select screen if one has just played officer the round before, thereby allowing other players the chance to pick it. And if they don't, then like above it becomes open for the previous incumbent again.
3. Flag icon on T.
When pressing T, it would be nice to have a little flag icon of the company with the information in the bottom right. I'd guess that the soldiers in the civil war companies would know what their flag looked like, but when we're changing every round - we don't. Would be less intrusive than another visual icon for where the flag/officer is on the screen (like how the PoC is right now).
4. Show a rough outline of the PoC on the f2 map.
It's not massively obvious to new players where they need to be in the cap. Something like a rough circle drawn on the f2 map would act as a nice guide.
5. Battle plan from the officer on f2 map.
The ability for the officers to mark the map at the start of the round with perhaps an arrow of attack or rally point for each company would help with teamwork, while only acting as a rough guide.
