There's no need to have to select each time where to spawn (flag or initial position) and then click on the spawn button, as most spawn the same class the whole game and mostly at the flag if the option is available.
So, when you die, auto deploy at flag if available, or at spawn if not.

Sure, while waiting you'd be able to override (spawn somewhere else, another class, another faction). Why click the same buttons twice per spawn?

I feel like this is entirely unnecessary. Reason one being the current state of the game, no one should have to waste time making an auto deploy function when you are capable of hitting the damn button. Reason two in my opinion even in the final release the game has no reason for a useless laziness enabling feature such as auto deploying. I feel as though it would also make more of an issue out of people going afk especially in smaller games.

The autokick eventually needs to affect people who aren't deployed yet or don't ever deploy. For admin purposes it'd be very helpful being able to tell who's spawned in and who has what role in the team screen and of course who is spectating.

The problem with autodeploy would be that you often times can deploy right into combat. We don't need people spawning in odd spots AFK.

Hm, did not consider AFK spawning. Ok, add this twist: unless some meaningful input is given after spawn (not AFK), then next respawn will be at the initial position. Nobody is killed by the enemy that far back, the soldier will just loiter there while the player goes to bathroom and not do any damage to the team tickets beyond that first spawn presumably on flag which would mean a skirmishing death.
So cost is negligible unless you run a very tight army.
