Anybody know if there were any standard practices of which Company went where? Obviously this could change but was there anything that said Company H was generally in the middle of the formation or Company A was always on one flank or the other?

If so does anyone know how regimented this practice was or if it changed up?

Thanks

Thanks. Didn't know in the drill books that it depended on the seniority of the Officers in the Companies. I wonder how often this was followed. In my case it makes sense because the author of what I was reading said he was on the right flank and after looking at the roster he was the most senior Captain at the time.
