KÄMPFE FÜR SIGEL! KÄMPFE MIT DEN GERMAN RANGERS
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8402/28402535444_167fff0342_o.png
Dann melde dich hier (http://www.warofrightsforum.com/showthread.php?781-52nd-New-York-Volunteer-Infantry-quot-German-Rangers-quot-or-quot-Sigel-Rifles-quot-Company-A) freiwillig!

Nice video guys... I hadn't seen that before now. It brings attention to the German families that were living there at the time like the Poffenberger's, Miller's and Otto's for example. It reminded me that I saw this book recently on Amazon.

The 52nd last week went out as Garibaldi Guards. As nice as the uniform came about... well I can`t speak for all "German Rangers" BUT I do definately look forward to tomorrows drill in a ...let`s say more manly kinda tunic.
See ya´ll on the Battlefield fellow Sufferers of the North and South!
PS: Devs. may want to take notice of the "Flag bug". It appears, also with our 52nd flag, that if you join as bearer other players only see the flagpole with some rag around it but no flag. Respawning the flag bearer makes the flag mostly be visible to other players.

i, Patrick O'Conner have applied to join the 52nd New York.
Volunteer O`Conner, you are hereby accepted among the ranks of the brave 52nd New York State Volunteer Infantry. You will share a tent with another new recruit Steven Johnes. I am pleased with the way you mastered your first drill and school of the Soldier last friday. Keep that up and one day you may become reknown Generals of the Army. Until then keep all your gear and tunic in the best condition.
The 52nd also welcomes two soldiers of veteran status who cured from disease in hospital. Welcome back in the firing line Privates Hetzenauer and Schulte.
Furthermore the 52nd New York took part in a battalion drill conducted by companies of the Eagle Brigade this last saturday. We enjoyed the drill a lot and are looking forward to the next field meeting with our brothers in arms.
As this post seems a bit dusty with absolutely no media-input, I found this little piece of teasing material from last jear. Enjoy! o7

Dear 52nd
I am a recent newcomer, and am interested in joining, however i do have some questions:
1) Do i need access to the alpha to join? I have only donated to Sargent tier, though I am considering raising my pledge.
2) Are there mandatory weekly meeting or drills? My schedule is fairly hectic, and while I would love to attend all drills, I will most likely not be at liberty to join them all.
I apologize if these questions have already been answered, I searched the first few pages but found no such matter addressed.
Best wishes and the best of luck! Make Uncle Sam proud!

I want to express my deep gratefulness for the trust being put into me with the promotion to Sergeant among the 52nd N.Y.S.V. Infantry. I feel greatly honored being part of this fable Company and will do my best in achieving the duties of a Sergeant in the future. I will never let this great Company with all its great men down and I hope that sooner than later more future German Rangers will find the way to our fine Platoons.
I remember the first Drills and Events where I took part in the beginning of the year and I can only say that being with the 52nd did make me addicted to WoR in a positive way. Honestly I wouldn`t know if I would play the game regularly if I would not have met the 52nd. I thank all of the men in the Company for many very entertaining evenings on the Drill grounds and battle fields and am looking forward for even more.
Special thanks go out to 1st Sergeant Leonhard, whom I am much obliged, as he was the man who effectively made a Sergeant out of a bloody greenhorn Volunteer. Thank you John! And also thanks to the officers and NCOs of the Company who are all amazingly kind and a fun group to be part of.
OK enough of the sentimentalism and back to the firing line,
yours respectfully,

Congratulations Sergeant Fritz. This promotion is well deserved. You are very active and you and 1st Sergeant Leonhard keep the company running without any problems. I can concentrate my time and minds on our general course for our company and community with the knowledge that you too keep our company alive and active. I thank you both for your great effort.I will not let you go, even if von Winkler continues to beg and I know you would never change the side to fight with those Traitors. Finally the regimental flag in it`s whole beauty is now in the game. Our distinct red and white color flag shall always guide us to victory and shall strenghthen the will of our brave soldiers. Again we thank Gianluca for designing this wonderful piece of art and the Devs. for helping this dream of our company come true and also Mrs. Francesca Klein for her perfect embroidery.
Other than that today we had a nice drill/event together with our beloved enemies of the 18th North Carolina and soon you shall see the results of our efforts today as we were visited by a very special guest tonight. We are all looking forward to the outcome, Sir.
Also the men obeyed the order of "aiming for salute" as Pvt. Kevin Morris was promoted to the service level of Regular Pvt. among the A Company. Congratulations!!!!

Back to the bloody earth
After a call for help from the militia soldiers of Pennsylvania reached the camp of the Army of the Potomac, the 52nd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment was sent to end the smaller skirmish at the Antietam.
https://i.imglol.de/20181027204929_1mq7flpew.jpg
Shortly afterwards the troops, tired from the battle, were prepared for a rapid march to offer support to the few soldiers.
https://i.imglol.de/20181027211127_1f1ln2tp4.jpg
Not forgetting the images of the Battle of Antietam, the still grieving troops found themselves on the battlefield.
https://i.imglol.de/20181027221646_1ek30e50l.jpg
Less than 200 men were found on the battlefield. The battle lasted only 30 minutes, but the dried blood was covered with fresh blood.

three years of service
Now the time has finally come, the 52nd New York has been proving its worth for three years now on the various battlefields in War of Rights and one should be allowed to celebrate this properly. We are happy to be a part of this wonderful community and are proud to be the longest active German company, so that we can look back on a lot of experience and It is not a matter of course to be active for three years in a game which is still in development. This achievement is not attributable to a single person, it is more an achievement of many who have worked for and with the community.
Only together can we achieve our goals.
In the last three years we have been able to climb higher as a team and get through all the bad times, which has led to a steady increase in our cohesion.
Together we are working on the realization of a dream, a vision of how we want to experience this game, how we want to get involved in this great community and what we always demand of ourselves in order to be satisfied with ourselves, but also to promote fun and friendship at the same time.
We don't go onto the battlefield with the idea of a victory at any price, we try to offer our members an immersive and relatively historical insight into the line infantry of the American Civil War.
Together we have already enjoyed three beautiful years and are looking forward to the future, because we are confident that we can resist everything and everyone as long as we hold the front.

Hey all,
I have noticed about a year ago I was removed for being inactive, like, a lot. The main reason was that I wasn't able to make time and put the special effort that was required. And the other reason at the time while the game did perform better. It still crashed and I couldn't deal with it with frustrated me like mad. So I forgot about this game and only remembered it months and months ago of an email saying I was honourably discharged. Which I kindly thank Roy Winters. But I also felt extremely out of place in a German-speaking group, there were English speakers and those willing to speak in English. But I knew it wasn't meant for me, but I still want to thank Paul Frank for giving me a chance, and I still remember him asking if I wanted to hang out...but I couldn't afford to fly across or get work to have to time off. I noticed the regiment now speaks German, which I know will bring true and swift communication.
It was an honour to meet any of the old members still here and wish luck to the newest.

The 52nd New York is proud to announce this weekends promotions among the A and B Companies. First and foremost the promotion of Corporal Stahl to the rank of Sergeant. Well deserved, Soldier! The Staff of the 52nd is confident, that the duties of Sergeant will be fulfilled as perfect as those of the Corporal by Johann F. Stahl. Furthermore Congratulations to Privates Frederick Vormweg and Peter Larkin. Latter had to wait a long time for his well deserved Promotion, so the Staff is pleased that this could now be done.

Last weekends drill again saw some promotions among the German Rangers. The Company Staff congratulates all honourable men who got promoted!
https://i.imgur.com/63cFuKd.jpg
Furthermore some service level promotions have been awarded:
Veteran Kevin Morris made the service level of Ranger among the 52nd NYSVI
Pvt. Michael O´Keefe made the service level of Regular among the 52nd NYSVI
Pvt. Jonas Clarke made service level of Regular among the 52nd NYSVI
Pvt. Ignaz Steinheart made service level of Regular among the 52nd NYSVI
The Drill again was instructive and exhaustive to keep the 52nd a well drilled unit among the Union.

After the Drill the 52nd entered the skirmish against our enemy-ours the 18thNC. In a very welcome change of behavior because of some manually map "rotations" the 52nd found itself in some amusing men-choirs and round-fights in the midst of some cap points. Some very welcomed hoax!
The two rounds of skirmishes brought us again two victories. In the East Woods it was 42ndPA Recruit Cottons bravery that saved the Union from an otherwise perfectly deserved victory by the forces of Hell. The second skirmish turned out to be a well deserved Union victory. We do thank all the participating companies and loners, who helped make this a great evening for fans of WoR!

This weekend saw the brave 52nd New York as dirty barefeet soldiers of the South. But let`s start from the beginning.
The whole Drills of the weekend had been themed towards the grand Batallion Drill of the "German Volunteers" Community this last Saturday. Thus the Company drilled the columns of fourth and the company into line out of that very formation. The company leaders have been very pleased with what they saw and the 52nd was as ready as Lincolnites can possibly be to leave civilisation behind and slip into those tatters that them Planters call uniforms.
Fridays Company Drill was completed by some more very well earned promotions among the Company. The Company Staff congratulates all Promoted!
https://i.imgur.com/TUGBOhe.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ALwqMGB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kQbglLh.jpg
Promotions in service levels have been:
Pvt. Desmond Mendes made the service level of Regular among the Company.
Pvt. John Biek made the service level of Regular among the Company.
Pvt. Otto Dallewitz made the service level of Regular among the Company.
On Saturday the grand Batallion Drill among the "German Volunteers" was a complete success and every soldier was very excited and pleased with the outcome. The Batallion consisted of 4 Companies. Those have been the 52ndNY as 1st Company followed by our brothers in arms the 2ndWI as 2nd Company, the 18thNC Comp.A as 3rd Company and the 18thNC Comp.G as 4th Company. The Drill consisted of a wonderful dress parade and afterwards some movement in columns of 4th by every attending company. Then the companies fell from the columns of 4th into line. All these formations have been executed in the best manner by all companies. With a wheeling the companies ended up in a nice formation to start the firing drill. It was an eye-opener to see the Batallion working together that perfect and the Salvo by the Batallion was enjoyed by everybody. After a charge over plain field the Batallion came together for the final ceremony.

The 52nd New York thanks the Legion Staff and all Officers of the TGV involved for their engagement to help make this event as great as it turned out to be. We are looking forward for the next Batallion Drill. This time on the US Drill Camp and with less holes in the uniforms.
Thanks for your reading,
Respectfully,

Gentlemen,
William Meyerhoff, Private, Company A, 52nd New York Volunteer Infantry an den Kommandeur Brigadegeneral Israel B. Richardson, 3rd Brigade, 1st Divison, 2nd Corps, Army of the Potomac"

4th Anniversary!!
https://i.imgur.com/eXdr5De.png
four years ago, our 52nd New York was founded by me, with the aim of a good and orderly unit in War of Rights. After a long journey through Napoleonic Wars and North and South, the authentic and realistic War of Rights was a true oasis.
Our journey began with the 66th New York, 42nd Pennsylvania, 20th New York and 1st New Jersey Artillery.
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/753718610864318299/CAC9342EA91F68D81CC81AC6EA866A55ADBED541/
Over the past four years, our unit has changed greatly from an international unit to a German-speaking company.
Together with 1st New Jersey and 20th New York we founded the German Volunteers, a community for all German-speaking units in War of Rights.
From the very beginning, we attached great importance to drill and line infantry. Since then, we've been improving all the time.
https://i.imgur.com/pZ6SJL1.png
I'd like to thank all the helpers of the first days, without whom the project could not have started. Wess_Hudson who made many nice videos. Archangel, who provided a temporary forum and Teamspeak. DavidDire, the first sergeant of the unit, who helped me to put together the training plan.

A big thank you to Roy Winters, John Leonhard, John Smith and Adolph Fritz, without whom the 52nd New York would never have become what it is today:

New York Volunteers... EXCELSIOR!
Five Years of the 52nd New York Infantry "German Rangers" in War of Rights
https://i.imgur.com/PIpWqTA.jpg
The 52nd NY takes pride in celebrating its fifth jubilee in the Game War of Rights. It was a long way we went with the community of WoR and the developers of this game with it`s outstanding vision of a new kind of FPS. Not necessarily always content with the games development we still second this great idea and vision and enjoy any update which is thrown at us.
Five Years… this remains a feat also regarding internal community-work. It ain't just the COs and NCOs of our unit who fill the ranks of the 52nd with life; no its foremost those members who are standing fast in the Line of Battle as enlisted men and enjoy the historically correct formations and orders. And it is this that represents the 52nd New York in the first place; the historical understanding of the Line Infantry during the times of the ACW with all its pros and cons in the game. Since the foundation of the unit now five years back, always full attention was paid on the research of the correct historical orders and it was never about winning engagements at all costs but simply about the way a victory was gained or a defeat had to be accepted. In this regard a side note shall be put as the “German Rangers'' currently adapted a 50-page strong Drillbook which is mediated in our Drills and also executed in the Battles we take part of.
During this long time the “German Rangers” have not always been on the sunny side of life but have gone through some miserable times too. Sometimes member count exploded and other times we could count our combattants on one hand. Thus it is just the more pleasing that we can celebrate the fifth jubilee of our 52nd today.

Now some words about our flag
As with the historical units our virtual unit has its particular relation concerning the regimental color. In the ACW the flag had an immense meaning on and off the battlefield. It was the rally-point of the regiment and it bore the battle-honors. Also the enemy knew the respective colors of the opposing regiments and could thus make up whom they would have to fight.
Historically the flag was gifted to the 52nd on October 31st 1861 during a parade by some dames from Brooklyn New York. During that period the 52nd was trooping on Staten Island New York. In the course of this parade a certain judge Reynolds held a speech where he spake of the honor and devotion of all those “who came to us from a different continent” and who “offered the country a much higher and stronger loyalty than could ever arise from simple birthright; and they are cementing it in blood.” After this speech also Col. Frank held a speech in German and there was more exercising for the excited crowd. With the regimental colors the 52nd also got their flank markers in this ceremony.
Even with our virtual unit we have a particular relation to “our” flag. As soon as there was rumor that the units in WoR should get their respective flags we knew we wanted to be among the first units who would be able to carry their flag to battle. As it became clear that the flag of the 52nd would not be prioritised too high as it is a rather complicated flag and the unit not that well-known we decided to start our own backing project in this backing project. We found a designer who was able to create the flag according to the specifications by the devs. The result was then handed over to the devs and it was implemented to the game and we were indeed happy to be among the first units to carry their flag into battle. We are still very grateful to the willing backers and the devs too for making this happen. It is still a milestone in our development in the game.
