This is a company that needs to be in the game gotta represent my Italian heritage

The most famous Italian-American unit was the 39th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, better known as the Garibaldi Guard. Although its ranks included a number of ethnic groups, the majority were Italians and that was shown in their name, the Italian tricolor they carried into battle and the flamboyant uniforms they adopted, patterned somewhat after the famous Bersaglieri (Italian light infantry). The Garibaldi Guard fought in almost every major action of the eastern theatre of war including such famous battles as Harper's Ferry in 1862, Gettysburg in 1863, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor and the siege of Petersburg in 1864. They were also present at the final Appomatox campaign in 1865.

I hope this unit gets in game because they were involved in Maryland campaign and because of their cool ass uniforms

(but there were Italians who fought for the Confederacy as well, although they tend to be less well known)

At the very beginning of the war their uniforms were red with gray pants, but later they switch to blue uniforms red trim to look more like their fellow union solders

At Bull Run the Garibaldi Guard took a lot of friendly fire because other Union troops believed their feathered slouch hats and red and gray colors were southern uniforms. soon after they changed the uniforms to blue and red trimmings to avoid confusion

Sorry, buat the Garibaldi Guard went to Bull Run with his "bersaglieri" uniform and that uniform was worn untill may 1863. Another thing, the 39th New York didn't fought in the battle of Bull Run but was in the rear,, with Blenker's division and covered the retreat of the Union Army shooting only few volleys against Confederates patrols.
For more info about the Garibaldi Guard I suggest you the book of Michael Bacarella "Linoln's Foreign Legion. The Garibaldi Guard. The 39th New York Infantry."
